On March 14, the atmosphere at the ports in Phu Quy Special Zone became busier when many fishing boats continuously docked.
On each ship, the red national flag flutters in the sea breeze, signaling the return journey of fishermen to participate in the Great Festival of the whole people.

With the characteristic of working at sea for many days, many fishermen are often away from home. Therefore, right from the beginning of March, trade union levels in the province have promoted propaganda and mobilized union members who are fishermen in seafood exploitation trade unions to proactively arrange reasonable sea trip schedules to be able to return in time to participate in elections.
In Phu Quy Special Zone, there are currently more than 1,500 fishing vessels with over 7,500 workers directly engaged in seafood exploitation. Phu Quy Special Zone Trade Union is managing 2 seafood exploitation trade unions.
In which, Tam Thanh Seafood Exploitation Union is the unit with the most union members with 115 union members, organized into 16 fleets operating at sea.

According to the local Election Commission, the entire special zone has 23,345 voters, distributed in 6 constituencies.
Because most voters are sea workers who regularly go offshore for long days, the government and local organizations have actively propagated and mobilized fishermen to arrange time to return to shore before the election day to exercise their rights and citizens' obligations.
Mr. Ngo Van Thao - Chairman of Tam Thanh Seafood Exploitation Trade Union said that because union members in the trade union regularly exploit offshore, the executive committee has implemented many flexible forms of propaganda about election day.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thien Tam - Chairman of the Phu Quy Special Zone Trade Union, the trade union has coordinated with the border guard force to promote propaganda and mobilize trade union members and fishermen to arrange sea trip schedules, returning to Phu Quy island to participate in elections on March 15.
Not only returning to vote, many union members also expressed their hope that through their votes, they will elect deputies who are virtuous and talented enough to represent the voice and aspirations of fishermen.

What they expect is that the elected delegates for the new term will continue to pay attention to the lives of fishermen.
In which, many fishermen expressed their desire for functional agencies to soon consider and resolve fuel support for qualified sea trips according to Decision No. 48/2010/QD-TTg.
Currently, many ship owners have completed dossiers since 2023 and are waiting for payment.

In the midst of making a living at the forefront of waves and winds, despite many difficulties and hardships, members of the seafood exploitation union in Phu Quy Special Zone still show the spirit of responsibility of voters.
Proactively returning to the shore to participate in the election is not only to exercise citizens' rights and obligations but also to show affection for the homeland and country. Thereby, contributing to the overall success of the country's festival.
