Located 56 nautical miles (about 120 km) from Phan Thiet port, Phu Quy Special Zone (Lam Dong province) has an area of 18km2, including 10 villages.
These days, on the roads of Phu Quy island, the national flag is red with banners and slogans promoting elections, creating a bustling atmosphere towards the festival of the whole people.


According to statistics from the Phu Quy Special Election Commission, the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term here has 23,345 voters, with 6 electoral units. The locality has also established 21 election teams to serve the organization during the election day.
According to records, voter lists have been posted and continue to be reviewed and updated before election day.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tri - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the special zone, Chairman of the Election Committee of Phu Quy Special Zone - said that the locality determines that this election is not only a periodic political activity but also an important milestone affirming the position and role of the special zone in the development strategy of the whole province.
We identify propaganda work as a key task to ensure that every citizen clearly understands their time, meaning, and responsibility in participating in the election," Mr. Tri said.

The Special Zone has implemented many flexible forms of propaganda, suitable to local conditions. From village meetings to social networking sites, content related to elections continuously spread.
Not only on the island, propaganda work is also deployed to fishing boats fishing offshore.

The Special Zone Election Commission coordinated with relevant units to distribute leaflets and provide information through the radio communication system for captains and crew members to grasp information about the election day.

In a phone conversation, Mr. Chau Minh Ngoc - a crew member of a fishing boat fishing in the DK1 offshore platform fishing grounds - said that information about the election has been widely disseminated, so fishermen know very well.
After pulling a few more nets, the ship will return to Phu Quy Special Zone. According to calculations, by the morning of March 14, 3 ships will dock for the brothers on board to rest and participate in elections in Phu Quy on March 15," Mr. Ngoc shared.

Currently, plans to ensure security and order, the preparation of documents, ballots as well as facilities to serve the election day are being urgently completed by the locality, ready for the festival of voters on remote islands.
