Nearly 2,900 workers in Lam Dong undergo health check-ups right at work

Lam Dong - Trade unions coordinate with businesses to hire doctors and medical equipment to go to the company to examine the health of thousands of workers.

On August 22, Mr. Tran Duy Thanh, Chairman of Ham Kiem Commune Trade Union (Lam Dong province) said that many grassroots trade unions in Ham Kiem 2 Industrial Park have organized periodic health checks and occupational diseases for union members and workers.

At the grassroots trade union of Right Rich International Co., Ltd., 2,874 union members and workers are undergoing periodic health check-ups. This is the grassroots trade union with the largest number of union members in Lam Dong province.

To create convenience for employees, the company hires a medical unit to bring doctors and equipment to examine right at the workplace.

The company's dining and living area is arranged as an examination place. Thereby, helping workers conveniently check their health without affecting production activities.

Workers are examined by many specialties and X-rays are taken by specialized vehicles. The examination results are notified to help workers grasp their health status. In case of detecting signs of illness, appropriate treatment directions are advised.

Ms. Doan Thi My Thach, Chairwoman of the Grassroots Trade Union of Right Rich International Co., Ltd., said that the total cost of health check-ups for all employees is more than 220 million VND.

According to Ms. Thach, in addition to taking care of health, the grassroots trade union also coordinates with the company to organize Trade Union Meals, monthly birthday parties and give gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances.

Also located in Ham Kiem 2 Industrial Park, the grassroots Trade Union of VLG Yuan Lin Co., Ltd. also organized periodic health check-ups and occupational disease check-ups for 37 workers, with a budget of nearly 25 million VND.

Bringing health check-up activities to businesses helps workers reduce travel time, while creating conditions for businesses to proactively monitor the health of the workforce.
