Free health check-ups for 49,926 workers in the Industry and Trade sector

The Trade Union of the Industry and Trade sector has implemented many practical care activities, helping tens of thousands of union members and workers to have health check-ups, support and enjoy benefits.

Supported 6,918 turns of people in difficult circumstances

On June 30, Mr. Le An Hai - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Chairman of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union said that in the past time, trade union levels at all levels have innovated propaganda, increased coordination, mobilized social resources to better care for union members and workers; and at the same time replicated effective models and methods, taking practical needs as the basis for operation.

For Workers' Month 2026 alone, trade unions at all levels have implemented many practical activities. In which, 180 units organized the program "Thank you workers", helping 116,544 union members and workers benefit; supporting 6,918 turns of people in difficult circumstances with a total budget of nearly 55 billion VND. In which, the Vietnam Trade and Industry Union directly supported nearly 1.8 billion VND; grassroots-level directly superior trade unions, grassroots trade unions and businesses supported more than 53 billion VND, through forms such as giving gifts and difficulty allowances.

As a result, 49,926 turns of union members and workers were examined and consulted on health. Some units have effectively implemented health care models at the workplace, organized direct or online health consultations, contributing to raising awareness and self-care skills for workers.

6 months with 12,347 initiatives from workers

Mr. Mai Manh Dung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union, Chairman of the Trade Union of Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation - JSC (VEAM) said that in the first 6 months of 2026, VEAM Trade Union coordinated professionally to implement many solutions to care for the material and spiritual life of workers, building a stable, safe and sustainable working environment.

In the first 6 months of the year, the entire Corporation visited and supported 668 union members and workers with a total amount of 688 million VND; 7,182 union members and workers underwent periodic health check-ups. Workers' Month and Action Month on occupational safety and health activities were organized with the theme "Vietnamese workers: Innovation, improving labor productivity", thereby spreading the spirit of companionship and sharing of trade union organizations with workers at the grassroots level.

In addition to caring for material life, VEAM Trade Union also focuses on improving the spiritual life of union members and workers. In the first 6 months of the year, grassroots trade unions organized 32 sports festivals and art performances, attracting 8,551 participants.

On the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the establishment of VEAM Corporation, the Trade Union of the Corporation's Agency coordinated with the Youth Union to organize sports exchanges between units in the system and exchanges with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, creating a cohesive atmosphere throughout the Corporation.

Notably, emulation movements continue to create clear changes. Responding to the movement "Good labor, high productivity, good income", the Corporation's Trade Union has mobilized employees to emulate in studying to improve their qualifications and skills, implement digital transformation, promote technical innovation initiatives and save costs for businesses.

In the first 6 months of 2026, the entire system had 12,347 initiatives, 1,231 emulation projects and products recognized, with the value of projects reaching more than 76 billion VND. This is a result showing that trade union activities are not only limited to caring for and protecting rights, but also directly contribute to improving production and business efficiency.

The entire Corporation has 2,795 turns of people participating in studying to improve professional qualifications and skills, including 614 women.

The Corporation's Trade Union also developed a plan to train and train professional skills for grassroots trade union officials, expected to be organized in September 2026, in order to improve the quality of trade union activities in the new situation.
