Currently, the Vietnam Science and Technology Union (CDKHCN) is managing 54 affiliated trade unions with more than 82,650 union members. With the proportion of female union members accounting for more than 40% of the total number of union members in the entire industry, female cadre work is always concerned and directed by Party committees, professional leaders and trade union organizations at all levels.
In the period 2023-2025, the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union did well in women's work thanks to trade unions at all levels proactively advising on planning, training, fostering and using female cadres; paying attention to the work of creating sources, developing female party members, sending female cadres to participate in professional training classes, political theory and management skills. Many women have grown up through the movement, and are trusted and appointed to leadership and management positions. In particular, 100% of agencies and units with 50% or more female workers have key female leading cadres introduced by the trade union.
Regimes and policies for female workers such as: in-depth health check-ups, maternity leave, reduced working hours during pregnancy or raising young children, support for childcare costs for female workers... are fully implemented. In particular, the trade union plays an important role in coordinating with professional departments in the process of arranging and streamlining the organizational structure, restructuring units related to female workers, civil servants, and laborers. 100% of female union members register to participate in the movement "Good at state affairs, good at housework". Emulation movements among female workers, civil servants, and laborers are suitable for the specific occupations of each unit.
In addition, trade union levels under the Vietnam Science and Technology Union also proactively and flexibly organize activities to care for female union members on International Women's Day March 8, Vietnamese Women's Day October 20, Family Day...
