Nam Dinh "Thank You Workers" Month
Nam Dinh currently has nearly 170,000 workers, civil servants, and laborers; of which the labor force in the production and business sector accounts for more than 70%. In recent times, trade unions at all levels in the province have regularly organized propaganda activities, disseminated occupational safety and hygiene work, improved the environment and working conditions for workers.
Mr. Hoang Dinh Trung - Chairman of Nam Dinh Provincial Federation of Labor - said that in order to continue to reduce labor accidents and limit causes of occupational insecurity, trade unions at all levels in the province continue to promote propaganda work so that employees and employers improve their knowledge and grasp the provisions of the law on occupational safety and hygiene.
The Provincial Federation of Labor has paid attention to labor protection work and regularly directed trade unions at all levels to coordinate with the government and counter-level professionals to effectively implement it. In 2024 alone, the Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to organize 9 training conferences for nearly 1,000 union members, members, and grassroots union officials on legal contents on environmental protection.
Chairman of the Labor Federation of Nam Dinh Province added that, during the month of workers and trade unions at all levels in the province, organizing the organization of "thanking workers" with the contents of rewarding, supporting health care, giving gifts to workers and workers to show the recognition of trade unions, businesses and society to the contributions of employees. On this occasion, the provincial Labor Federation also presented 1,000 gifts to the typical workers of enterprises in the province.
Ensuring safety at the workplace
At Nam Dinh Steel Wire Joint Stock Company (Nam Dinh City), there are currently more than 200 employees. Right from the beginning of working at the company, all workers have participated in training on knowledge of labor safety, skills, and production safety processes.
As a company specializing in steel lathe products, Mr. Luong Van Ha - Chairman of the company's Trade Union said that ensuring safety for workers is an important task to help the company stabilize production, in addition to taking care of workers' lives, the company always focuses on improving the working environment. Every year, the company organizes periodic training on working processes and safety principles.
Similarly, Thang Loi Company Limited (Nam Dinh City) is a company specializing in casting products, employees are often exposed to high temperatures, fires, smoke, dust and chemicals, so the work of ensuring occupational safety and hygiene is always focused on by the company. During the work, workers are equipped with heat-resistant gloves, safety glasses, face masks, clothes, protective hats and heat-resistant shoes to avoid the risk of burns and unexpected work accidents.
Along with that, more than 200 employees of Thang Loi Company Limited were also temporarily trained periodically on working processes and safety principles.
