Building a strong and comprehensive Trade Union
On December 13 - the second day of the 1st Da Nang City Trade Union Congress, the 2025-2030 term continued to take place with many important contents.
Attending and directing the Congress were Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Ngo Xuan Thang - Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee; Mr. Le Tri Thanh - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City.
The Congress was attended by 300 official delegates representing more than 216 thousand union members in Da Nang city.
Reporting to the Congress, Mr. Le Van Dai - Permanent Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation said: During the past term, under the leadership of the City Party Committee and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the close coordination of authorities at all levels and the efforts of the entire system, the activities of the Da Nang City Labor Union have had many innovations and creativity, achieving comprehensive results in all fields.
Before the merger, the Da Nang City and Quang Nam Provincial Labor Federations managed 3,382 grassroots unions and grassroots unions with 407,936 union members.
After the merger, establishment of the new Da Nang City Labor Federation and implementation of the Central Resolution on ending trade union organization activities in administrative agencies and public service units receiving 100% of salaries from the state budget, as of October 31, 2025, the Da Nang City Labor Federation will manage 1,767 grassroots trade unions and grassroots trade unions, with 216,707 union members.
For the 2025-2030 term, the City Trade Union Congress determined to build a strong, comprehensive, effective City Trade Union with the capacity to adapt and solve problems.
Perform well the functions and tasks in the new situation; be a solid political and social foundation of the Party and State; play a bridging role, maintaining close links between Party committees and authorities at all levels and the working class and laborers of the city.
It is worthy of being the largest representative organization, the center of gathering and unity of the working class and laborers, a reliable bridge, a solid support, accompanying businesses and laborers, a pioneer force in digital transformation, innovation and carrying out the task of building and developing a modern Da Nang city with high quality of life, becoming a growth pole of Vietnam, together with the country entering the era of national growth.
3 breakthroughs
The Congress proposed 3 breakthroughs including: Promoting dialogue and collective bargaining, bringing benefits to union members and workers, focusing on wages, bonuses, conditions and working hours.
Focus resources to promote the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots unions; build a team of grassroots union chairmen and vice chairmen to meet the requirements of the task.
Comprehensive digital transformation in the trade union system, strongly applying digital transformation in the fields of propaganda, union member management, finance, and providing trade union welfare services.
The Congress also set specific targets to be implemented annually and strive for until the end of the term, including: Through emulation movements of trade union organizations, strive to have at least 50,000 initiatives of union members and workers applied in production, business and work activities; propose the General Confederation to consider awarding at least 25 Creative Labor Certificates.
100% of union officials at all levels are trained and fostered in professional theory and trade union work skills.
By the end of the term, strive for at least 90% of enterprises and units with qualified trade unions to represent, negotiate, and sign collective labor agreements according to regulations with more beneficial contents for employees.
100% of cases where union members need to be consulted and debate about their legitimate and legal rights and interests will have union representatives participating or being supported by the union.
Building the "Da Nang Trade Union App". Deploy online guidance from the General Confederation of Labor for union members and workers. Strive to gradually allow online processing of the entire process of looking up, submitting requests, registering, receiving feedback on regimes, policies, and benefits related to union members and trade union organizations by the end of the term.
The Congress set out 9 key tasks and solutions to successfully implement the set goals and targets.
