Lao Dong Newspaper has just published an article reflecting on the case of many people whose residential land is subject to being reclaimed to build the Supermarket and Regional Distribution Center project invested by Phu Thai Group Joint Stock Company (Phu Thai Group) in Van Phu Ward, Phu Tho Province.
Although the project has been terminated since 2018, for many years due to some unresolved problems, the residential land of the people has not been returned.
This makes the lives of dozens of households difficult, people have land but cannot build houses, cannot transfer or buy and sell. For that reason, people have repeatedly sent petitions to the authorities.
On December 11, speaking with reporters, a representative of the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Affairs Department of Van Phu Ward said that currently, the project investor and local authorities have actively taken action, coordinating with relevant parties to promptly resolve the case.
"Recently, we, together with the investor and the consulting unit, conducted measurements at the project. People are also very enthusiastic about coordinating to determine the boundary markers on the field. Currently, the measurement work has been completed.
We are waiting for the investor and the consulting unit to complete and submit the drawings as a basis for implementing the next steps," informed a representative of the Department of Economics, Infrastructure and Urban Areas of Van Phu Ward.

In a document providing information sent to Lao Dong Newspaper, Phu Thai Real Estate Joint Stock Company (the unit receiving the transfer of assets attached to land of Phu Thai Group) said that the independent measurement work was completed in early December 2025.
"The data is being compared with the cadastral map to unify the boundary, serving the step of completing the adjustment documents. This is a necessary condition for the competent authority to consider and completely handle the people's petitions.
Currently, the work of completing the procedures is continuing according to the instructions of the authorities", Phu Thai Real Estate Joint Stock Company said.
The Supermarket and Regional Distribution Center project was granted an investment certificate by the People's Committee of Phu Tho province on July 30, 2008 and was leased land to implement according to Decision No. 968/QD-UBND dated April 21, 2009, with an area of 49,493m2, land lease term of 49 years.
After being allocated land, relevant units conducted site clearance of 46,803m2, equivalent to 94.56% of the project area and were filled with about 15,000m2.
According to Phu Thai Real Estate Joint Stock Company, the long bottleneck located in the remaining area of 2,690m2 on the first bank of Hung Vuong Street is the entrance front of the project but has not reached an agreement with the people, so the project has no access to implement the construction of further items.
"Based on the proposal and actual implementation, in 2018, the People's Committee of Phu Tho province decided to terminate the project, and in 2021, the province will continue to reclaim the project land. From 2021 to present, many objective factors have affected the progress of document completion and the lack of consistency between measurement data sets.
This is the reason why the separation of the 2,690m2 area from the project boundary is longer than expected," explains Phu Thai Real Estate Joint Stock Company.

Sharing with reporters, Mr. Lai Quyet Chien (78 years old, Van Phu ward) one of dozens of households whose land is subject to land acquisition for the Metro and Regional Distribution Center project expressed his joy at knowing that the incident is being actively resolved.
"The deadlock has been going on for too long, now thanks to the involvement of the press, the incident has been accelerated. We are all old and have poor health, so we just hope to soon resolve it completely, ensuring legitimate rights," said Mr. Chien.
Previously, on October 29, 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Phu Tho province issued document No. 6238 to the People's Committee of Phu Tho province to resolve issues related to the implementation of the Metro and Regional Distribution Center project. At the same time, the project investor is required to coordinate with the People's Committee of Van Phu Ward to prepare a dossier to adjust the decision to reclaim land and allocate land to be brought outside the boundary with an area that has not been cleared according to regulations.
