Growing in the number of union members
According to the Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor, after nearly 50 years of formation and development, the Provincial Federation of Labor has held 11 congresses. When it was first established after the liberation, the whole province had only about 23,000 workers with a few dozen production facilities.
By 1997, Binh Duong planned 13 industrial parks with about 100,000 workers. The Provincial Federation of Labor has 808 grassroots unions (CDCS) with 75,000 union members. From 2000 to present, along with the strong development of industry, the number of union members has continuously increased.
In the period of 2018 - 2023, trade unions at all levels in the province admitted 352,428 union members, reaching 253% of the resolution target, exceeding the level assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. In the 2023 - 2028 term, Binh Duong aims to reach 1.2 million union members.
In 2024 alone, the whole province established 271 grassroots unions (including 12 unions), developing an additional 116,227 union members. Currently, the Provincial Federation of Labor manages 4,151 grassroots unions with 770,237 union members/8 whole 18.131 workers in units with trade unions.
Mr. Luu The Thuan - Head of the Propaganda and Women's Union of Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor - informed that in 2025, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor chose it as "the year of developing union members, participating in building a strong Party", in which the strive to actually increase the number of 70,610 union members.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tan Dat - Vice Chairman of the Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor, the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions is one of the key tasks. The Provincial Federation of Labor has directed all levels to improve their sense of responsibility and be flexible in propaganda and mobilization of workers to participate in the Trade Union organization.
Dedicating great resources to taking care of union members
Binh Duong Provincial Trade Union always closely follows the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Provincial Party Committee, maintains the spirit of solidarity, emulation, innovation, creativity and flexibility, proactively adapts to reality, and completes assigned tasks well.
At the same time, the Provincial Trade Union effectively exercises its role of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers; actively mobilizing resources, organizing many practical activities to care for the material and spiritual life with effective models bearing the unique mark of the Binh Duong Trade Union.
In recent years, trade unions are really a solid support, always accompanying members and workers. Trade union activities left many imprints in the hearts of workers. Most notably, in the work of supporting union members, workers in difficult circumstances, serious illnesses and labor accidents. For each union member, when unfortunately encountered a serious illness, the grassroots trade union mobilized union members, businesses and trade unions directly to support. The Labor Federation of Binh Duong Province also has a fund to support union members in extremely difficult circumstances to support further assistance.
From 2018 to 2023, more than 5 million union members and workers were cared for and supported with a total amount of more than 2,296 billion VND. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, about 500,000 people stayed in Binh Duong to celebrate Tet. The Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor has reviewed and supported workers in difficulty. Many meaningful activities to care for workers have been implemented. The total budget for taking care of union members and workers during the Lunar New Year this year is about 272.4 billion VND.
Trade unions at all levels actively coordinate to support businesses in removing difficulties, contributing to stabilizing production and building harmonious labor relations. Thanks to that, the prestige of the trade union has been enhanced, workers want to join, and businesses have also proactively established trade union organizations to promote the workers' movement and develop production.

The Provincial People's Committee highly appreciates the role of the Provincial Federation of Labor in promptly advising on social security policies, helping workers feel secure in their work, stick together and accompany the development of Binh Duong.
