In a vibrant emulation atmosphere towards the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Bank of Vietnam (May 6, 1951 - May 6, 2026), on the morning of May 3, in Hanoi Capital, the State Bank of Vietnam organized the launching ceremony of the online running tournament "75 years of the Bank of Vietnam".
Present at the Launching Ceremony, athlete An Phuong Hoa (Vietnam Bank Union) said that right from the time the Organizing Committee launched the race, she registered to participate, becoming one of the first athletes of the race.
“For me, this is not just a simple sports activity but also a very meaningful occasion to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Banking sector. What impressed me is that every km I run is recognized and contributes to social security activities. Therefore, each step is not only for health training but also carries the value of sharing. Through the race, I want to spread the spirit of sportsmanship and healthy lifestyle to colleagues and the community, so that everyone can maintain a more active exercise habit together,” Ms. Hoa said.
Athlete Nguyen Bich Hanh (Vietcombank Trade Union) said that she has participated in quite a few amateur running races, but this running race brings very different emotions. This is not only a sports playground but also associated with the 75-year milestone of construction and development of the Banking industry, so the spiritual significance is very large.
The female athlete from Vietcombank highly appreciates the application of technology to connect tens of thousands of officials and employees of the banking industry nationwide.
Although each person runs in a different place, at different times, but when looking at the overall achievement table, I have a feeling that everyone is conquering a big goal together. The race does not put much emphasis on achievements but emphasizes perseverance, spirit of participation and spread. This is also a difference that makes me feel very excited and have more motivation to maintain long-term running," Ms. Hanh said.
Athlete Nguyen Huy Dung from Vietnam Modern One Member Limited Liability Bank (MBV) said that MBV has hundreds of officials and employees registered to participate in the race.
I clearly feel the spirit of solidarity and pride in the Banking industry. I believe that the values that the race brings will continue to spread strongly even when the program ends," said Mr. Dung.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Pham Tien Dung, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Chairman of the Vietnam Bank Union, said that this online race is one of a series of practical activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the industry, marking the start of a new journey, not only with numbers, but with the will, spirit and solidarity of the entire industry and the country to move into a new era.
The race carries very meaningful messages through numbers such as: Recorded time 26 days - associated with the milestone of 2026. 51,000 participants - symbolizing 1951, the year of the establishment of Vietnam Bank. Minimum distance 75km - celebrating 75 years of construction and development. Therefore, each number is not only a physical challenge, but also a historical milestone, a symbol of the development journey of the banking industry, of the country, as well as the determination to conquer new goals in the future," said Mr. Pham Tien Dung.
According to the Organizing Committee, each 1km of legal running of athletes will be converted into expenses (1,000 VND) to contribute to social security activities, with a total value of up to 7.5 billion VND.
As of 8:47 PM on May 2nd, the Registration Gate for the race has officially closed with 51,000 registered athletes, from 51 teams. At exactly 6:30 AM this morning, 300 athletes from units in the banking system departed with a journey around Hoan Kiem Lake.
