Equipping knowledge to build a happy family
Recently, at Samsung Display Vietnam Co., Ltd., the Bac Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor (LDLD) in coordination with the company's trade union organized a conference to promote reproductive health care for workers and laborers. This event attracted 400 union members and employees of the company to participate. This is one of the practical activities to improve the material and spiritual life, especially taking care of the health of union members and workers. This activity once again affirms the deep concern of the Trade Union organization for workers. Providing comprehensive knowledge, especially knowledge about reproductive health and family building, not only helps workers have a better life but also contributes to building a healthy, connected and sustainable working community.
Creating conditions for female workers to study, practice and work
Currently, the Bac Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor directly manages and directs 2,147 grassroots trade unions of enterprises and public service units that do not receive 100% of their salaries from the State budget with 578,335 union members, including 358,326 female cadres, union members and workers, accounting for 62%/total of union members in the province. Female union members and workers are mainly concentrated in the enterprise sector, in the province's industrial parks and account for a high proportion (70 80%) in some occupations such as: Textile, electronic assembly...
In the past 5 years, grassroots trade unions have promoted communication activities with the following contents: Building family happiness, reproductive health care and nutritional health; "Family - resources and responsibility in preventing and combating domestic violence", "Family is a place to preserve and conserve good cultural values of the nation" to reduce gender imbalance at birth.
Along with that, organize activities in many forms such as: Workshops, contests, forums, and propaganda on legal regulations related to gender equality, prevention and control of domestic violence, marriage, population - reproductive health, family planning; deploy the model "Your Health"; establish "Reproductive health club, family planning" at enterprises to contribute to health care for workers.
In 5 years, the Provincial Federation of Labor has organized propaganda to over 656,312 female employees about the directives and resolutions of the Party, the Trade Union, and the State's laws and policies related to female and children's labor such as the Labor Code, the Trade Union Law, the Law on Gender Equality, the Law on Prevention of Domestic Violence, the Law on Social Insurance, Health Insurance; organized propaganda and education on gender, gender equality, the qualities of Vietnamese women, population, family planning, reproductive health care, moral education, family lifestyle, child care, education...
The Provincial Federation of Labor has coordinated with relevant agencies and units to organize 90 thematic conferences on gender equality, prevention and combat of domestic violence, building happy families and taking care of nutritional and reproductive health and well-being for over 30,000 female union members and workers. The union also coordinated with functional units to organize 22 conferences on population, reproductive health care, and family planning for over 3,432 workers at enterprises.
