Speaking at the opening of the training session, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Chairman of the City Labor Federation emphasized that the Trade Union Law (amended) effective from July 1, 2025 is an opportunity for the Trade Union organization to continue to affirm its important role, accompany workers and contribute to the sustainable development of the country... Therefore, the trade union officials attending the training session need to uphold their sense of responsibility, focus on listening, discussing and exchanging to be able to grasp the content and methods of implementing this law in the most effective way. From there, apply it to practical union activities to bring practical benefits to union members and workers.
At the conference, reporter Le Dinh Quang - Former Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, member of the Drafting Committee of the Trade Union Law informed delegates about some basic contents and new points of the Trade Union Law (amended). In particular, some new contents such as expanding the scope of regulation, workers without labor relations are allowed to join, trade union activities and include in the Law the concept of "grassroots trade union", foreign workers are allowed to join Vietnam Trade Union; no union members are gathered, establish grassroots trade unions in the agency. The Law also adds the right of the Trade Union to supervise and provide social criticism; adds cases of exemption, reduction, and suspension of trade union fee payment...
Also at the conference, the reporter informed union officials about some new points of the 2024 amended Law on Social Insurance such as adding social pension benefits; expanding the subjects eligible to participate in compulsory social insurance and voluntary social insurance; changing regulations on enjoying sick leave; adding maternity and work accident regimes to voluntary social insurance policies...
