Mid-Autumn Festival comes to children of workers in difficult circumstances
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh - Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City Labor Federation said: During the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, the City Labor Federation will give 8,000 gifts to children aged 5 to 15 who are children of union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
In which, priority is given to children with disabilities, suffering from dangerous diseases, orphans of fathers or mothers, fathers or mothers with labor accidents and other difficult cases.
Each gift is worth 300,000 VND, including 100,000 VND in cash and 200,000 VND in gifts. The total value of 8,000 gifts is 2.4 billion VND, excluding gift bags and funds for organizing Mid-Autumn Festival activities.
In addition to giving gifts, the City Labor Federation plans to organize 2 "Full Moon Night" programs, each program with 300 children participating.
The first program is expected to take place on the evening of September 22, 2026 at the City Labor Culture House. The second program is expected to be held on the evening of September 24, 2026 at Ban Thach ward.
Here, children not only receive Mid-Autumn Festival gifts but also participate in fun and lively activities in a safe and healthy space. The City Labor Federation will coordinate with the Da Nang City Youth Union to organize activities for children in two programs.
For children who do not directly participate in the "Mid-Autumn Festival Night", gifts will be transferred to ward and commune trade unions, grassroots trade unions, affiliated grassroots trade unions and grassroots trade unions in industrial parks and high-tech parks to organize handovers to children.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, this year's Mid-Autumn Festival activity aims to practically care for, share and encourage children of union members and workers in difficult circumstances, thereby helping them "have more joy and motivation to continue striving in their studies and training".
At the same time, through this activity, Trade Union levels continue to improve responsibility for family and children's work; join hands to care for, protect, educate children and contribute to creating a safe and healthy living environment for children to develop comprehensively.
More resources for more children to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival
A noteworthy point in this year's plan is that care is not only limited to 8,000 gifts from the city's Labor Federation source. But based on the number of gifts allocated, Da Nang Trade Union levels are encouraged to mobilize more resources at units to organize the Mid-Autumn Festival program and care for union members and workers' children.
Depending on actual conditions, ward and commune trade unions, grassroots trade unions and affiliated grassroots trade unions can proactively develop plans and organize appropriate activities. Through this, the city trade union's resources play a fundamental role, while creating conditions for grassroots levels to mobilize more social resources and expand the number of children being cared for.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh said that the requirement is that activities must be organized practically, happily, and effectively, and at the same time create a safe and healthy playground for children of union members and workers during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
For many workers' families in difficult circumstances, a gift of 300,000 VND may not be too much material value. But along with a festival night, a Mid-Autumn cake or games specifically for young children, it is also a sharing for their parents after hard working days.
More importantly, taking care of children by union members is also a way to directly care for workers. When the difficulties of families, from studying, playing to the spiritual life of children, are concerned by the Trade Union organization, workers have more sharing and attachment to their representative organization.
8,000 gifts, therefore, not only bring a happier Mid-Autumn Festival to children in difficult circumstances, but also contribute to spreading the concern of the Trade Union organization to each family of union members and workers.
