Affirming the position of a key bank
On May 13, 2025, in Hanoi, the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (Agribank) held the 6th Conference to honor advanced models and commend "Female union members who are good at banking, good at housework" for the period 2020-2025.
Speaking at the Conference, Permanent Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Chairman of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union Dao Minh Tu highly appreciated Agribank's pioneering role in the development of the crop and innovation of the banking system.
Mr. Dao Minh Tu emphasized: "The collectives and individuals honored today are the core to spread the spirit of pioneering, responsible, creative, making important contributions to the common achievements of the banking industry and the country".
In the period of 2020-2025, between many challenges of socio -economic and the context of the financial and banking sector, strongly influenced by the disease, Agribank still persisted in maintaining the growth momentum, continuously expanding its operating scale. On April 30, 2025, the total assets of the bank exceeded 2.3 million billion dong, the total outstanding loan of the economy reached nearly 1.8 million billion dong, of which 65% for Tam Nong field - a core field in the bank's sustainable development strategy.
Contributing to that result is the strong influence of emulation movements, becoming an endogenous driving force to promote innovation in each stage of the profession.
Over the past 5 years, Agribank has recognized and rewarded 638 outstanding collectives of labor, 18,247 cadres were recognized as Emulation Fighters at the grassroots level, a series of individuals and units were awarded the Labor Medal, Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, Emulation Flags from the State Bank and other forms of industry-level awards.
Female union members are the core force in innovation and digital transformation
In particular, the movement "Good at banking, good at housework" recorded more than 23,000 female union members - workers accounting for over 56% of the total personnel of the system - as the core force contributing to Agribank's achievements. Of which, there are 955 female managers and 4 female managers holding senior leadership positions at headquarters and branches.
The female officials not only completed their professional tasks excellently but also demonstrated outstanding roles in management activities, credit consulting, agricultural production support and digital banking applications.
In particular, many female cashiers such as Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Cuc (Binh Thuan), Doan Tuyet Lan (Hai Duong), Mai Thi Yen Nhi (Binh Duong)... have voluntarily returned billions of VND in excess to customers - small actions but contributed to building the image of Agribank as honest, responsible and humane.
Not only good at banking, the female union members also actively participate in industry and national playgrounds. Agribank won the first prize in the "Banking Cultural Beauty" contest in 2021, the Special Prize of the "Green Bank for Green Life" in 2024, won 9 gold medals at the 2023 Banking Sports Meeting and contributed more than 4,200 initiatives to the program "One million initiatives" in the prevention of COVID-19 epidemic, exceeding more than 111% of the registration plan.
Launching emulation across the system, towards a double-digit growth era
Speaking at the Conference, Agribank General Director Pham Toan Vuong emphasized that the emulation was the way to promote creativity, which is a string that connects the whole system in the journey of drastically converting the new phase. With the motto "Innovation, efficiency, sustainability", Agribank is preparing to enter the strategic period of 2025-2030 with the goal of growth of 8% or more, gradually realizing the vision to become a leading commercial bank in the region and accompanying the development of Vietnam's agricultural economy.
Receiving the direction of the State Bank's leadership, Chairman of Agribank's Board of Members To Huy Vu pledged to promote the tradition of solidarity, innovation and aspiration to rise up, building emulation movements to become more and more substantial, imbued with Agribank's cultural identity. We will continue to compete with the digital transformation strategy, improve governance capacity, improve service quality and build a team of professional emulation officers to quickly bring Agribank into the era of sustainable growth, he affirmed.
At the Conference, Agribank's leaders officially launched an emulation movement to excellently complete business tasks for the 2025-2030 period. The focus is on synchronously deploying 6 strategic breakthroughs, 4 key business restructuring focuses, streamlining the apparatus, being efficient, applying strong technology and integrating internationally in the spirit of important Resolutions of the Central and the National Assembly such as Resolutions 57, 59, 66 and 68.
