As one of the units in the health sector of Son La province, the Trade Union of Con Dinh Hospital (Chieng Coi Ward, Son La) successfully organized the "Union Meal" in 2025 at the Nutrition Department with the participation of a large number of staff, union members, and employees in the hospital.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tung - Deputy Director of the Hospital shared that "Union Meal" is an annual activity of the hospital, this is a practical activity that shows the concern of the leaders and trade unions for the lives of employees.
In particular, there is a lot of pressure in the medical environment. Organizing the "Union Meal" is an opportunity for everyone to sit together, chat, share and become more connected.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tuan, working at the Infection Control Department of Conigon General Hospital, said that in recent years, the Hospital's trade union has organized a "Union Meal" every year.
"The atmosphere is very joyful and cozy, doctors and staff all feel cared for and encouraged" - Mr. Tuan said.
Not only the health sector, from July 22 to September 2, 2025, many trade unions at units and enterprises in Son La province will simultaneously organize "Union Meals" for thousands of union members and employees.
Each meal is worth from 70,000 - 120,000 VND, supported by financial resources of trade unions, enterprises and socialization.
At Che Chieng Ve Joint Stock Company, (Chieng Son Commune, Son La Province), the "Union Meal" was organized in two shifts, with a cozy and joyful atmosphere between workers, the union and the Company's Board of Directors.
Each meal is worth VND 120,000, of which the Provincial Federation of Labor and businesses together support VND 100,000, the rest is daily shift meals. The sauce is rich in dishes, including boiled chicken, fruit, soft drinks...
Ms. Le Thi Hong Ngoc - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Che Chieng Ve Joint Stock Company said that despite many difficulties, the Company and the trade union still organize a "Union Meal" periodically every year to take practical care, create cohesion and encourage employees to work with peace of mind.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Thai Thi Mai - Vice President of the Son La Provincial Federation of Labor said that the annual "Union Meal" program is a key activity in the series of events celebrating the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union and National Day on September 2.
This is an opportunity for workers to take care of both materially and spiritually, and at the same time an opportunity for the Trade Union to strengthen its link with employers.
We identify this as not just a meal but an opportunity to build a culture of sharing and solidarity at the workplace. Depending on the conditions, grassroots unions can integrate gift-giving activities, new union member admissions, union member birthdays or cultural and sports activities... Through the program, we want to convey a message that the Union always accompanies employees" - Ms. Mai affirmed.
"Union Meal" in the Son La highlands, although simple, brings great spiritual value, arousing sharing and solidarity in each collective, contributing to enhancing the role of the Union organization in the lives of workers, civil servants and laborers.
The Son La Provincial Federation of Labor is currently directly managing 184 grassroots unions with 12,486 union members in the public service sector and enterprises. As of August 12, 2025, nearly 100 units have organized "Union Meals" for nearly 9,000 union members and employees.
