On August 1, the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor held the first Executive Committee meeting for the 2023-2028 term to give opinions on a number of contents of Trade Union work under its authority.
At the conference, the decision of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Inspection Committee... of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor (new) for the 2023-2028 term was announced. Specifically, the Executive Committee has 23 comrades, comrade Do Tran Thinh, holding the position of Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor. The Inspection Committee consists of 8 comrades, comrade Truong Tung Son holds the position of Chairman of the Inspection Committee.

Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor Do Tran Thinh said that after the merger of the province (An Giang and Kien Giang), there will be many tasks that need to be recalculated to suit the actual situation, the delegates focused on discussing the main contents to have proposals and solutions to operate more effectively in the coming time.

The An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor has set out an action program for the last months of 2025 with the theme "Focus on developing union members, participating in building a clean and strong Party"; creating a foundation for union activities in 2026, improving the quality of union members, enhancing the role of representation, protecting the rights of workers, closely linking between the Union and the Party in the strong and comprehensive development strategy of An Giang province in the new context.
The Provincial Federation of Labor sets a target of increasing the number of union members by 8,000; striving for most enterprises with 20 or more employees to establish grassroots trade unions; striving to establish trade unions in qualified communes, wards, and special zones according to the instructions of the General Confederation, 3 grassroots trade unions in the informal sector.
At least 85% of enterprises and units with trade unions that meet the conditions prescribed by law are negotiated and signed by trade unions in accordance with the provisions of law; organize conferences and periodic dialogues with workers.
Dialogue and negotiate with employers to adjust the value of shift meals at 9 enterprises according to regulations; 18 business unions negotiated to support shift meals (first time). Strive to have 35 enterprise-level trade unions sign new collective labor agreements; 200 enterprise-level trade unions organize labor conferences; 180 enterprise-level trade unions organize periodic dialogues. Support the construction and repair of at least 30 "Union Shelters" for union members with housing difficulties...
The Provincial Federation of Labor also set out solutions, focusing on performing well the task of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and employees, especially implementing solutions to facilitate the grassroots trade union to conduct negotiations and collective bargaining, focusing on wages, bonuses, working hours, rest hours, and occupational safety and hygiene. Proactively implement solutions to "Improve the effectiveness of dialogue, negotiation, and signing of collective labor agreements in units and enterprises.
Strengthen information gathering, listening to feedback from the grassroots, grasping the aspirations of union members and employees, the situation of labor relations, production, business, and implementation of policies and regimes of enterprises.
Actively participate in resolving labor disputes, collective work stoppages, etc., ensuring the legitimate and legal rights of union members and employees.
