From emulation movements to the beauty of trade union culture
On May 16, the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) organized a conference to summarize 5 years of implementing Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW of the Politburo and commend advanced examples in studying and following Uncle Ho in the period 2023 - 2025. Before the conference, delegates offered flowers at the Statue of President Ton Duc Thang - an exemplary leader of the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union organization.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Do Tran Thinh - Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation - said that studying and following Uncle Ho in the past time is no longer limited to propaganda slogans but has become a regular task, going deeper and gradually forming a beautiful feature in trade union culture.
According to Mr. Thinh, that change is reflected in the spirit of responsibility, dedication, creativity and affection of the team of trade union officials, union members and workers throughout the province.
From studying and following Uncle Ho, many good models and creative ways of doing things have appeared in trade union levels. Typical examples include the model "Reading morning newspapers - Orienting ideology" contributing to raising political awareness for workers; the model "Your health" taking care of health and preventing occupational diseases for workers; or the "Self-management group for safe, secure, and civilized workers' boarding houses" helping to build a stable and meaningful living environment for workers far from home.
Not only stopping at propaganda, studying and following Uncle Ho is also concretized by close and practical actions in working life. They are trade union officials who are always present when union members encounter difficulties and labor accidents; they are workers who, with technical innovation initiatives, have brought value and profits of billions of dong to businesses.
Spreading humane models for workers
Assessing the results of 5 years of implementing Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW, Mr. Ngo Phuong Vu - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province - said that the movement has been implemented seriously, synchronously and has become a regular operating method of grassroots trade unions.
Over 5 years of implementation, propaganda work in the trade union system has had many innovations. Each year, the entire system posts more than 2,000 news, articles, and propaganda images; organizes thousands of propaganda sessions attracting over 100,000 turns of officials, union members, and workers to participate.
Activities to care for union members and workers are also widely and practically implemented. Every year, more than 110,000 turns of union members and workers are supported with a total budget of nearly 100 billion VND; hundreds of "Trade Union Homes" are built and repaired, helping many workers stabilize their lives.
The movement "Good labor, creative labor" continues to spread strongly with thousands of initiatives and technical solutions effectively applied to production practice, contributing to improving labor productivity and business production efficiency.
According to the leader of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province, studying and following Uncle Ho is not only limited to awareness but has become a specific action, creating clear changes in the sense of responsibility, service spirit and attitude of trade union officials, union members, and workers.
Honoring the "flowers of Uncle Ho's learning
On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation commended 17 collectives and 32 typical advanced individuals in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style in the period 2023 - 2025.
Many typical models were commended such as the grassroots Trade Union of An Giang Samho Co., Ltd. with models "Trade Union Supermarket", "Free ice", "Free tire repair pump" serving more than 10,000 union members and workers; or the grassroots Trade Union of Hwaseung Rach Gia Co., Ltd. with models "Heart Fund", "Green Road" contributing to building a safe, modern and meaningful working environment.
The conference also commended many typical individuals such as Dr. Tran Van Loi - Director of An Giang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital; Mr. Luong Van Ba - Chairman of the Board of Directors of An Giang Water and Electricity Joint Stock Company; Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh - Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of An Giang Samho Co., Ltd....
In particular, An Giang province has 2 individuals commended and rewarded at the national level by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, namely Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh - Chairwoman of the grassroots trade union of CIC Group Joint Stock Company and Ms. Nguyen Thoai Trinh - Chairwoman of the grassroots trade union of Dream An Giang Co., Ltd.
