Speaking at the conference, representatives of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Ministry of Construction acknowledged the achievements of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union in 2024.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, directed that in the coming time, all levels of construction trade unions need to continue to promote the care of union members and workers before, during and after Tet, especially for those who work during Tet, so that no union member facing difficulties will not have Tet. Along with that, grasp the situation of labor relations and wages during Tet; promptly accompany businesses, especially in difficult places, to support, share and ensure workers' rights.
The Vietnam Construction Trade Union also needs to launch emulation movements, especially at key projects, to achieve higher labor productivity, save more, and fight waste; strengthen the work of developing union members; and reorganize the apparatus to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in the spirit of Resolution 18-NQ/TW.
At the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Le, former President of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union, received the Second Class Labor Medal awarded by the President; 5 groups of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union received the Emulation Flag of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; 2 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; 6 units received the Emulation Flag of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union; 13 groups received Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Construction Trade Union.
In 2024, the total number of employees at trade unions under the Vietnam Construction Trade Union will be 74,983; the total number of employees at local construction trade unions will be 76,094. The average income of employees at affiliated trade unions will be 12.7 million VND/person/month, an increase of 2.75% compared to the income level in 2023. The average income of employees at local construction trade unions will be 7.02 million VND/person/month, an increase of 10.3% compared to 2023.
