On July 24, Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance issued a notice on updating citizen identification cards and coordinating with banks to open accounts for pensioners and social insurance beneficiaries.
Accordingly, from the August 2025 payment period, beneficiaries receiving cash when coming to receive monthly pensions and social insurance benefits need to bring their citizen identification card so that the Social Insurance agency can update and complete the missing management information.
At the same time, the Social Insurance agency will coordinate with the bank to open an account for beneficiaries who do not have a bank account at payment points. If the beneficiary already has a bank account, it is necessary to provide account information to the Social Insurance agency to transfer to receive pensions and social insurance benefits through the account from the most recent payment period.
In case the beneficiary does not come to the payment point (such as the person receiving the money at home, the authorized person), after the payment days, the Social Insurance agency will coordinate with the bank to invite the beneficiary to the Social Insurance headquarters or a convenient location to open a personal account. In particular, beneficiaries who are elderly and have poor health can complete procedures to authorize their children and grandchildren to receive them on their behalf through personal accounts.
Receiving pensions and social insurance benefits through personal accounts helps beneficiaries save time and effort, do not need to focus on signing at the payment point, and at the same time ensure receiving pensions and social insurance benefits quickly, safely, accurately, and on time.
At the same time, it aims to increase the pension and social insurance allowance payment rate through personal accounts to 96% in 2025.
