On the morning of January 26, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation organized the program "Party and State leaders give gifts to workers and laborers".
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, visited and presented Tet gifts to workers.
Mr. Tran Doan Trung - Permanent Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - said that, thoroughly implementing the Central's directives "Tet comes to everyone, every family", "No one is left behind" and the Tet care plan of the Vietnam Trade Union, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation has organized many programs to care for and give Tet gifts to workers.
Caring for Tet is one of the three annual peak work periods of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. The Ho Chi Minh City General Confederation of Labor with more than 1.5 million union members and nearly 20,000 grassroots unions has maintained and constantly innovated its working methods to organize increasingly practical and effective Tet care activities, expanding the beneficiaries.
The programs initiated by the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union have become traditional activities and over time have been expanded by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, creating attraction and spreading nationwide.
These are activities such as: Sending workers home for Tet with "Love ticket", "Spring bus, train, flight", "Union train"; "Reunion Tet", "Workers' market", "Workers' families, laborers celebrate Tet with the City", "Happy Tet with the boarding house", "Tet for children" for workers' children...
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, commemorating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025), activities to care for workers during Tet are being widely deployed by the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union at all levels throughout the area, increasing the number of direct beneficiaries to about 500,000 people, with a total implementation cost of about 500 billion VND.
Union members, employees and the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union were very happy and honored to receive a visit and gifts of encouragement from Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen on behalf of the Party, State and Ho Chi Minh City leaders.
This is the deep concern of the Party, the State, the Party Committee and the Government of Ho Chi Minh City, and is a recognition of the efforts in labor, production, and contribution to the common development of the city and the country.
This is also the wish of the leaders of the Party, State, Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam Trade Union to union members and workers of the city named after beloved Uncle Ho for a new year of peace, happiness, prosperity and success.
“With this meaningful honor and encouragement, union members, employees, and the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union always firmly believe in the leadership of the Party, determined to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of labor and production, promote the workers' movement and trade union activities, and implement the Party's guidelines. In the immediate future, in 2025, we will be determined to successfully implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW "On breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation" of the Politburo, the annual theme of Ho Chi Minh City and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor", Mr. Tran Doan Trung emphasized.
On this occasion, leaders of the Party, State, Ho Chi Minh City and Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation presented 214 gifts worth 1.3 million VND each (including 1 million VND in cash and gifts worth 300,000 VND) to workers.
