On September 16, Kien Thach Service - Trading Joint Stock Company (District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) continued to transport nearly 120 million VND and 15 tons of goods (worth 150 million VND) including: 2 tons of milk, 2 tons of water, 2 tons of fast food bread, 2 tons of cakes, 2 tons of sausages, 2 tons of specialized medicine and 2 tons of clothes, old books, notebooks, pens to the Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Bai and Lao Cai provinces to support people affected by storms and floods.
Mr. Vo Khac Binh - Chairman of the District 7 Labor Federation - said that all of the above goods were contributed by union members and employees in District 7. Previously, a similar amount of money and goods had been sent to the Northern provinces and it is expected that by the end of September 2024, the District 7 Labor Federation will continue to send the third shipment with the same amount of money and goods to the Northern provinces and cities to support people affected by storms and floods.
“The tradition of the Vietnamese people is to always love and support each other in times of difficulty and hardship, so when we learned that people in many provinces and cities in the North suffered damage due to storms and floods, union members and workers in Ho Chi Minh City in general and District 7 in particular actively responded to the campaign to share the hardships that the people in the North are suffering,” said Mr. Binh.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Thanh - Vice President of Binh Thanh District Labor Federation - said that workers in the district have also contributed 870 million VND, 1,000 cans of milk and 1,000 doses of medicine, totaling 1 billion VND to support people affected by storms and floods. This amount of money and goods has been transferred by the District Labor Federation to the Binh Thanh District Fatherland Front Committee for quick delivery to necessary places.
Everyone wants to contribute and share.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hai - Chairman of Binh Tan District Labor Federation, along with the deployment of documents to all local trade unions to mobilize support for people affected by storms and floods, the district Labor Federation officials contributed one day's salary and the entire Executive Committee of the district Labor Federation donated one month's allowance to support people affected by storms and floods.
Lac Hong Primary School's Trade Union has transferred 700 new sets of clothes (worth VND90 million) to the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union Social Work Center to send to the people in the North who suffered damage due to storms and floods. The Trade Union has mobilized union members and employees to support over VND807.5 million and is actively mobilizing more.
Mr. Luu Kim Hong - Chairman of the Trade Union of Nidec Vietnam Company - said that the trade union has launched a campaign to support the people in the North affected by storms and floods with the amount from 50,000 VND - 300,000 VND/person, depending on their will, and sent to each trade union group for union members and employees to register.
According to initial statistics, most union members, employees, including both official and temporary employees, cafeteria and security staff... in the entire company have registered to support and everyone wants to contribute and share.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh An - Chairman of the Vietnam Samho Company Trade Union - informed that after two days of launching, the company's employees have contributed nearly 250 million VND to support the people in the North affected by storms and floods.
According to statistics from the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, by 5 p.m. on September 15, through the mobilization of Ho Chi Minh City labor unions at all levels, union members and workers in the city had contributed 2 tons of milk, 2 tons of water, 2 tons of fast food sandwiches, 2 tons of sausages, 1 ton of feminine hygiene pads, 2 tons of specialized medicine; 2 tons of cakes; 10,255 boxes of instant noodles, 10,110 boxes of water, 3,000 sweaters; 2,000 portions of medicine; 2,000 boxes of milk; 700 new sets of clothes; 30,000 bags of family medicine... and nearly 13.6 billion VND to support people in the North affected by storms and floods. The labor unions at all levels have paid 590.1 million VND to the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, paid nearly 7.26 billion VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels, and are currently holding more than 5.75 billion VND at the units.
