Female trade union official devoted to union members
In Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Mai Thanh Thao is a trade union official with 27 years of seniority. No matter what position she works in, Ms. Thao always identifies studying and following Ho Chi Minh's moral example as a regular task, associated with daily tasks, not for formality.
During her work, Ms. Mai Thanh Thao devoted a lot of enthusiasm to caring for union members and workers. At the time of the COVID-19 epidemic, Ms. Thao was the Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Binh Duong Industrial Parks. In the context of workers facing many difficulties due to the epidemic, Ms. Thao called on businesses and philanthropists to support union members.
Female trade union officials, not afraid of difficulties, went to the epidemic area to give essential goods to union members and workers.
Receiving gift bags and heartfelt greetings from the trade union, workers burst into tears. At that moment, I realized that the meaning of the job is not only material support, but to maintain trust and bond between the trade union and union members" - Ms. Thao shared.
Currently, Ms. Mai Thanh Thao is a Standing Committee Member, Head of Working Group No. 4 for area management of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation. During Workers' Month 2026, female trade union officials are closely associated with localities and grassroots trade unions. Ms. Mai Thanh Thao has visited businesses, went to factories to encourage workers to compete in labor production and support cases of union members facing difficulties.
A bright example of studying according to Uncle Ho
Also working at the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union, Mr. Luu The Thuan is also one of the trade union officials who is dedicated to union members.
In 2023, Mr. Luu The Thuan, then Head of the Propaganda and Women's Affairs Department of Binh Duong Provincial Labor Federation (formerly), advised on implementing the model "Binh Duong Trade Union learns and follows Uncle Ho's words".
The model has been effectively implemented at the grassroots level and has been replicated throughout the provincial Trade Union. From 2023-2025, nearly 400 collectives and more than 1,100 individuals have been commended and rewarded at all levels.
In addition, Mr. Luu The Thuan has made many positive contributions to protecting the rights of workers.
Specifically, Mr. Thuan has coordinated to successfully resolve wage debts at T.L Steel Company; participated in successfully resolving labor disputes at L.F Co., Ltd. and H.C Wood Co., Ltd.; handled the case of recruiting some unqualified workers and Tet bonuses for contract workers with labor supply companies at A.P Co., Ltd. Through the above cases, the rights of about 300 workers with a benefit level of over 1.2 billion VND and about 400 workers continued to work stably have been ensured.
From the end of 2025 to now, Mr. Luu The Thuan has taken on the task of Chairman of Bau Bang Commune Trade Union. In his new role, Mr. Thuan has organized many activities to effectively care for the material and spiritual life of thousands of workers. Thanks to that, workers in difficult circumstances have stabilized their lives and become attached to businesses.
The Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation said that Ms. Mai Thanh Thao and Mr. Luu The Thuan are typical trade union officials who were commended by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for their outstanding achievements in "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style" in the period 2023 - 2025.
