PERSISTENTly keep the fire from the grassroots level
Amidst the bustling production rhythm at Lefaso Tra Vinh Industrial Investment and Production Joint Stock Company (Tra Cu commune, Vinh Long province) under TBS Group, the image of Grassroots Trade Union Chairman Cao Huu Trong Bac is always associated with closeness, responsibility and dedication to workers.
Attached to TBS Group for 31 years, including more than 18 years of trade union work, Mr. Bac deeply understands workers' lives and considers taking care of union members as a responsibility throughout his working journey.
Sharing about his work, Mr. Bac said that working in a trade union cannot sit and wait for dossiers, but must go down to the factory, listen to workers to understand what they need, where the difficulties are.
According to Mr. Bac, many of the workers' wishes are very simple, from a nutritious meal, a stable salary to a solid roof. The Trade Union must turn those seemingly small things into concrete actions.
In the past term 2023 - 2025, Lefaso Tra Vinh Trade Union built and handed over 2 Trade Union Warm Houses to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, with a total budget of 100 million VND.
Each year, the trade union also supports hundreds of millions of VND to repair and reinforce degraded housing for workers, helping many families stabilize their accommodation and reduce livelihood pressure," Mr. Bac said.
Mr. Thach Da Ra, a worker in particularly difficult circumstances, once lived with two young children in a dilapidated house, the worry of rain and wind was always present for many years. On the day of receiving the new house, Mr. Da Ra emotionally shared: "If it weren't for the Trade Union and Mr. Bac's concern, my father and I wouldn't know when we would have a stable house to shelter from rain and sun.
A place to settle down, connect businesses and workers
According to Mr. Le Duy Khuong - General Director of Lefaso Tra Vinh Company - the enterprise currently has more than 3,000 workers, of which 2,170 workers are Khmer ethnic people. The large and diverse workforce requires understanding of life to develop stably and sustainably. In his position as Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union, Mr. Cao Huu Trong Bac has clearly promoted the role of a bridge when coordinating to organize periodic dialogues, taking care of Tet, considering supporting Trade Union Homes, promptly reflecting workers' thoughts, contributing to maintaining harmonious labor relations.
Mr. Bac is an effective connection between businesses and workers, helping us understand workers better to jointly remove difficulties and stabilize production" - Mr. Le Duy Khuong assessed.
Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province, Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation - said that trade union effectiveness is reflected in the trust of workers.
Practice at Lefaso Tra Vinh shows that grassroots trade unions have promoted their representative role, acting as a bridge between businesses and workers, contributing to stabilizing labor relations and improving production and business efficiency.
