Diverse "spiritual dishes" for young workers
Hai Phong is currently one of the largest industrial centers of the country with more than 370,000 workers working in industrial parks and economic zones. In which, the youth worker force accounts for a large proportion, playing an important role in production, business and socio-economic development of the city.
According to the Hai Phong City Youth Union, besides the need for jobs, young workers also have a great need for cultural and spiritual life. That is the need to meet, connect, show talent, participate in community activities, access healthy cultural values and be inspired to live more actively every day. Therefore, in recent years, Youth Union, Association and Trade Union organization levels in Hai Phong have implemented many practical activities to care for the material and spiritual life of young workers.
Recently, within the framework of the 2026 Happy and Healthy Workers' Youth Festival, the City Youth Union - Vietnam Youth Federation of the city in coordination with the City Labor Federation organized the Music Festival Night "Youth Workers - Melody of Spreading", attracting a large number of union members and young workers to participate.
The program is not only a simple art performance but also an opportunity for young workers to meet, exchange, show their talents and immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of youth. Through performances praising the homeland, country and youth of Hai Phong, the program conveys a message about the optimistic spirit, aspiration to contribute and the will to overcome difficulties of young workers in the Port city.
Hai Phong City Party Secretary Le Ngoc Chau highly appreciated the coordination in organizing the 2026 Healthy Workers' Youth Festival between the City Youth Union and the Hai Phong City Labor Federation, especially in the context that Hai Phong is an industrial city, concentrating a large number of workers. At the same time, he emphasized that caring for the material and spiritual life of this force not only meets the needs of workers but also contributes to the sustainable development of the city.
Bringing digital utilities to worker dormitories
Not only interested in cultural and artistic activities, Hai Phong also focuses on improving the quality of spiritual life of young workers through promoting digital transformation and access to information.
One of the models that received positive responses is the free wifi installation program at worker dormitories implemented by the Hai Phong City Labor Federation. To date, 90 dormitories in communes and wards: An Phong, Thuy Nguyen, Duong Kinh, Do Son, Vinh Bao are equipped with free wifi. The free wifi system helps workers and laborers to study online, look up information, connect with their families and access public services in the digital environment more conveniently.
Mr. Nguyen Van Duc (from Nghe An) - a worker in Do Son Industrial Park - is renting a room in Nam Do Son ward. Every day, after work hours, Mr. Duc as well as workers in the same rented area only surf the web, read newspapers, and only call home with pictures for a week to ask about their family. Since the rented area was equipped with wireless Internet connection supported by the Hai Phong City Labor Federation, calls are more frequent and not interrupted.
According to the Hai Phong City Labor Federation, this is not only a meaningful gift but also shows the sharing and companionship of the Trade Union organization and coordinating units towards migrant workers. Through this program, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation hopes that each boarding house will not only be a place to live but also become a "digital cultural space", where workers have more conditions to study, improve their qualifications, and access useful information after hard working hours. It is expected that in 2026, the Labor Federation will expand the program to more than 100 workers' boarding houses in the area.
On the side of the City Youth Union - Vietnam Youth Federation, the city will also continue to pay attention to and implement more practical activities for young workers; not only supporting in education, vocational skills, but also focusing on caring for cultural and spiritual life, building a healthy and useful living environment for youth to develop comprehensively.
