On January 20, a series of workers working at Giai My Wood Products Production and Trading Company Limited in Vinh Hung Commune, Binh Giang District, Hai Duong Province, gathered in front of the company gate, demanding that the company quickly pay their December 2024 salaries.
Speaking to Lao Dong reporter on January 21, Ms. Vu Thi Hay - Chairwoman of Binh Giang District Labor Federation - said that Giai My Wood Products Production and Trading Company Limited in Vinh Hung Commune, Binh Giang District is a company specializing in manufacturing wooden products. This enterprise currently has about 230 workers, of which 83 are from Hai Duong, the rest are workers from neighboring localities and mountainous provinces.
At the end of December 2024, this enterprise announced that it would stop production and committed to paying all workers in full. However, nearly 30 days have passed, and the workers have not yet received their December salaries. Currently, the enterprise owner is not present in the locality, and the Binh Giang District Labor Federation has not been able to contact the enterprise owner.
According to Ms. Hay, the Binh Giang District Labor Federation has reported the incident to the Binh Giang District People's Committee for coordination in handling. At the same time, the Hai Duong Province Labor Federation has given instructions to find a solution to support workers who are owed wages, ensuring that workers can have a stable Tet holiday.
