Billion-dong initiative, stable operation
At the 2025 National Patriotic Emulation Congress for Workers, Civil Servants, and Laborers, Mr. Dinh Van Hieu, Deputy Head of the Technical Research and Development Department, Chairman of the Trade Union of Tra Bac Joint Stock Company, is one of eight outstanding collectives and individuals of Vinh Long honored to attend the Congress.
With more than 28 years of experience in technical work, he has participated in and been in charge of many large projects worth billions of VND, directly installing and processing complex electrical equipment, measuring and automating.
Mr. Hieu always believes that every initiative, no matter how small, can bring great value if applied in the right place, at the right time. That belief motivates him to constantly explore and improve in each production stage.
According to him, the most prominent is the series of initiatives and technical improvements that bring practical economic benefits to businesses, with a total value of more than VND5.686 billion in the period of 2020 - 2025.
In particular, the initiative to design and install CO gas combustion complexes helps the plant operate stably, instead of having to stop due to exceeding the emission threshold, bringing a profit of more than 4 billion VND/year.
This initiative also helps protect the environment and create stable jobs for more than 100 workers. In addition, he also designed a BBQ clean coal mixer to double output, saving 224 million VND/year; installed an automatic steam valve system that saves more than 1 billion VND/year.
"With those contributions, I was recognized as a Provincial Emulation Fighter (2021-2023) and received many Creative Labor Certificates from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor," Mr. Hieu added.
Honoring advanced models, strengthening the spirit of solidarity
Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor said that the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress for Workers, Civil Servants, and Laborers (CNVCLD) (2025-2030) is an important event organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
The Congress aims to summarize and honor outstanding collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement in the period of 2020-2025, thereby continuing to spread the spirit of emulation among employees.
The 11th Patriotic Emulation Congress for Workers, Civil Servants and Laborers in Vinh Long province has 08 collectives and individuals summoned to attend the Congress, including six individuals and two collectives - represented by the Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union at typical enterprises.
Including Mr. Dinh Van Hieu, Deputy Head of the Technical Research and Development Department, Chairman of the Trade Union of Tra Bac Joint Stock Company with initiatives that not only help businesses save costs but also clearly demonstrate the role and prestige of the grassroots trade union organization in production life.
He is a typical example of the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, always passionate about creativity, applying science and technology to practice to reduce labor intensity and increase production efficiency.
"This is a worthy recognition for the contributions and dedication of Vinh Long workers, and at the same time an opportunity for advanced models to exchange, learn, and affirm the role of the working class," Mr. Linh added.
