On December 16, at the Conference to review activities in 2024 and deploy tasks in 2025 of the Vietnam Railway Trade Union, authorized by the President, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded the Second Class Labor Medal to Mr. Mai Thanh Phuong.
Speaking at the conference, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang assessed that the Vietnam Railway Trade Union has coordinated professionally to ensure good policies, contributing to increasing income and improving working conditions for workers. Maintaining and implementing democratic regulations at the grassroots level.
In the coming time, the industry's trade union needs to continue to actively coordinate with the professional organization to effectively implement the grassroots democracy regulations. Research, propose and participate in the development of policies and laws related to the rights of workers in the industry. Organize propaganda, dissemination and implementation of the Trade Union Law (amended). Pay attention to the work of Party building, focusing on developing party members among workers and laborers.
The President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also requested the Vietnam Railway Trade Union to continue to innovate and streamline the Union's organizational system to operate effectively and efficiently in accordance with Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Party Central Committee and the direction of the Central Committee.
Accordingly, streamlining the organizational structure must be associated with building a team of quality union officials and assigning workers to suitable job positions.
At the same time, the Trade Union needs to pay attention to coordinating propaganda and mobilization to contribute to creating consensus among cadres, union members, and workers, promoting implementation in agencies and units...
Reporting at the conference, Mr. Mai Thanh Phuong said that the Vietnam Railway Trade Union organized Tet Sum vay - Xuan chia chia 2024 at stations, in remote areas, and places with difficult travel; gave gift bags and supported train tickets for workers in difficult circumstances to return home for Tet.
The total amount spent on care, visit, subsidy, and social charity activities in the whole industry is 18.72 billion VND, of which the union budget at all levels is 5.3 billion VND.
In Workers' Month 2024, at the Industry level, 10 working delegations were organized, including representatives of the Party Committee, Board of Members, Board of Directors and leaders of the Vietnam Railway Trade Union, to visit, encourage and support equipment to improve working and living conditions for workers working in the areas of Hai Van Pass, Khe Net Pass, Ca Pass, Bac Thuy Slope, remote areas, etc.
