Invest and upgrade equipment
A representative of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Lak district informed that in order to effectively and qualitatively train rural and mountainous workers, the district has planned to allocate capital for the district's Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education to invest in equipment.
In 2023, the Center purchased vocational training equipment worth VND294 million, provided start-up consulting, and surveyed and forecasted vocational training and employment needs in the district with a budget of VND950 million. The unit also repaired housing and office items with a budget of VND1.5 billion.
Mr. Nguyen Van Chien - Head of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Lak district said: "The center does not have permanent teachers, so we have to find contract teachers to teach part-time for the workers. With a house, a workplace, and full tools, teachers from far away can come to the locality to teach their profession more conveniently, and students can understand the lessons more easily."
Due to the diverse vocational training needs of workers, the Center must seek out specialized facilities, colleges and universities with experienced lecturers and practical knowledge to impart.
Sometimes the district has to coordinate with the Agricultural Service Center, veterinary staff, where there are experts knowledgeable in the fields of agriculture, production, crops, weather, and diseases to discuss contracts to hire and teach workers.
Support people to develop the economy
Implementing the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, Lak district has deployed many key projects.
Project 4 focuses on developing vocational education in poor and disadvantaged areas. In 2023, the total capital allocated for vocational training is 1.02 billion VND.
Poor households, near-poor households, newly escaped poverty households, and low-income workers are all included in the list for vocational training support. Thereby, helping them have new opportunities to find stable jobs.

According to Ms. H Trim Lieng, currently, thanks to the staff teaching about disease prevention vaccines, ways to protect livestock from the cold, and providing medicines to treat diseases, the number of livestock in the commune is increasing.
Selling buffaloes and cows at good prices to traders also helps farmers have a more prosperous life and cover living expenses.
Mr. Y Nam Krong, residing in Buon Biap village, Yang Tao commune, said: "Encouraged by the commune officials and teachers, I go to class every night to learn techniques for taking care of coffee trees and seedlings.
The teachers enthusiastically guided the students from harvesting ripe coffee, fertilizing, watering, choosing pesticides for the plants... From there, the family increased the productivity of the old coffee garden, gradually changing their thinking and working methods effectively.
