Before the opening of the National Press Conference to summarize the work of 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025, the Ministry of Information and Communications officially announced the picture of Digital Transformation of the National Press in 2024.
Accordingly, the total number of press agencies nationwide is 873 units, of which 351 press units completed the training program, 282 units conducted assessment and measurement.
According to statistics from the Center for Supporting Digital Transformation of Press, the number of press agencies participating in the assessment of the maturity level of press digital transformation in 2024 is highest in the Radio Block (92.86% participation) and the Local Newspaper Block (84.93%). The least participating blocks are the Central and local Magazine Block (20.74% participation), and the Science Magazine Block (20.74%).
Based on 43 evaluation criteria, the Center for Supporting Digital Transformation of Newspapers synthesizes and compiles 59 important indicators to publish the picture of digital transformation of newspapers in 2024.
The results of the 2024 press digital transformation maturity level have 28 units achieving Excellent level, 65 units Good, 55 units Fair, 25 units Average and 109 units Weak.
Of the 28 units achieving the Excellent level (an increase of 6.27% compared to 2023), the Central Newspaper Block has 10 units, the Local Newspaper Block has 8 units, and the Radio and Television Block has 10 units.
According to the announced results, Lao Dong Newspaper (under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor) leads the Central Newspaper Bloc (40 units participating in the assessment and measurement in 2024). Vietnam Television (under the Government) leads the digital transformation of the Radio - Television press (65 units participating in the assessment and measurement in 2024). Khanh Hoa Newspaper leads the Local Newspaper Bloc in the maturity level of digital transformation of the press in 2024 (62 units participating in the assessment and measurement in 2024).
