Dialogue is only valuable when the content is grounded
At Quang Ngai Petroleum Services Joint Stock Company (PTSC) Quang Ngai, dialogue and collective bargaining are identified as the axis throughout trade union activities, and are seen as an effective labor relations management mechanism. The Trade Union proactively coordinates with professionals to build a multi-channel information collection system, from periodic surveys, direct feedback reception to trade union activities at departments. Each opinion of workers (NLĐ) is considered, classified and analyzed carefully before being included in the dialogue content.
Sharing about effective dialogue, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Thanh affirmed: "Dialogue is only valuable when the content has basis, data and accurately reflects reality". Thanks to careful preparation, dialogue sessions at the unit are not formalistic, but have truly become a forum for frank exchange, where issues are raised, analyzed and resolved in a constructive spirit. Notably, these agreements are not only beneficial to employees, but also ensure feasibility in the business production conditions of enterprises.
Core Trade Union Group" model
A special point and also a factor in the success of dialogue, negotiation, and signing of collective labor agreements is the "multi-level dialogue" model being implemented synchronously from the company level to the team/team, workshop. This helps detect problems arising right from the grassroots level, avoiding major conflicts.
In which, with the construction of a two-way feedback channel, employees can reflect information directly and through digital platforms. Allowing anonymous feedback in some cases has contributed to increasing honesty and openness in exchange. A notable initiative is the "core trade union group" model. These are reputable union members who understand reality at departments, playing a bridge role between employees and the Trade Union organization. They not only collect information but also participate in explaining policies, contributing to creating consensus before entering official dialogues.
Mr. Thanh said that an important principle that is always guaranteed is not to let any workers stand outside the dialogue process just because of geographical distance: "Where there are workers, there must be a trade union organization accompanying them. That is not just a slogan, but a practical requirement.
From reality, Mr. Thanh analyzed: The biggest challenge is to find a balanced point between the interests of employees and businesses. This is a process that requires perseverance, persuasive analysis and reasoning ability, as well as the spirit of cooperation from both sides. A successful collective negotiation must converge the following factors: Careful preparation, goodwill, skills and bravery of the representative, along with the trust of employees. More importantly, success lies not only in reaching an agreement, but also in the feasibility and sustainability of the agreed contents.
