Joy converges
In recent Congress terms, the Organizing Committee has always arranged the Congress Press Center with full LED screens, power outlets, and internet. Reporters from newspapers just need to come and choose a seat to be able to work with peace of mind.
With the Trade Union Congress, the group of reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper always "occupies" quite a lot of space at the Press Center, not to mention reporters with A cards working in the hall. Like previous congresses, at the XIV Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, the group of reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper is always interested by other newspapers because according to logic, "home newspaper" will have a lot of information and is early information. Reporters of some newspapers even asked reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper to find delegates for interviews. At that time, with the strength of the newspaper belonging to the Trade Union system, reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper were ready to help.
The happiest thing is that the Press Center is a gathering place for reporters. There are people who have not met for a whole year, there are people who have just met at an event but when they meet, they all shake hands and smile, ready to share information to best promote the Congress. Sometimes the whole Center is silent because everyone is focused on the computer. Sometimes the whole Center comments and debates on the presentation of a delegate to find a private angle of reflection for their newspaper. Occasionally, photo reporters working in the hall and outside the lobby return to the Center, everyone gathers to see beautiful photos.
Reflecting the activities of the Congress does not depend on the time of completion of the Congress's working day. Sometimes delegates have returned for lunch breaks, reporters are still diligently working on news and articles, forgetting even time. One day, when the last reporter left the Press Center, the entire National Convention Center was deserted, the sky was pitch dark. All for the goal of the latest information lines, the most journalistic photos appearing in online newspapers and on paper newspapers the next day.
Sharing things outside of work
Arriving early in the morning before delegates arrived to prepare for the interview, many times not having time to eat breakfast. Waiting for delegates to arrive, conducting interviews right in the lobby of the National Convention Center, returning to the Press Center, they already saw a plate of fruits and pretty cakes to "resolve" hunger. At those times, anyone who had a package of sticky rice or buns was willing to share half with colleagues.
Many times, reporters carried out news and articles for more than half-time of the Congress, so they did not have time to quench their thirst. The brothers and sisters in charge of the Press Center of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor went to get refreshments for the reporters themselves. There was a late-day working session, lasting until after 7 pm, the reporters stayed to work, some brothers and sisters of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also stayed together. Sometimes a glass of water, a piece of cake, a conversation to relieve stress, and sometimes just quietly sitting in the last row of the hall, but the brothers and sisters of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor warmed the hearts of the reporters. That thoughtfulness and dedication has added energy as well as affection to the reporters, so that each person can try to complete their tasks better.
The efforts of the reporters were thoroughly recognized. At the press conference after the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - thanked the journalists for actively reflecting on the activities of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress with vivid reflective articles and interviews.
