- Compared to previous years, what are the highlights or differences in this year's Tet care activities for workers and laborers, sir?
Starting from the actual situation, especially the difficulties of workers due to the impact of natural disasters and supply chains, during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor is very proactive, early issued plans, directed and deployed a system of synchronous, comprehensive, focused and key activities to care for union members and workers, with the consistent spirit: "All union members and workers have Tet, celebrate Tet, and welcome Tet safely and meaningfully".
Trade union levels continue to maintain and expand many care programs bearing the Trade Union brand, organized widely and flexibly, suitable to the conditions of each locality and unit. The program "Trade Union Tet Market - Spring 2026" continues to be implemented in both direct and online forms. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor assigned the Labor Federations of provinces and cities, industry trade unions, and corporations to organize Trade Union Tet Markets directly nationwide. Goods on display are discounted from 10-50% or depending on the resources of the establishment, additional shopping vouchers can be issued to union members and workers with levels from 200 to 500 thousand VND.
Specifically for the Online Trade Union Tet Market, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has supported online shopping vouchers for 250,000 trade union members to purchase essential goods, serving the Tet shopping needs of union members and workers nationwide. This is the 3rd year the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has organized it. Up to this point, after more than 1 month of implementation, the Online Trade Union Tet Market has attracted more than 2 million visits, serving 215 thousand successful shopping trips of union members and workers, with a total amount of nearly 110 billion VND, reaching nearly 90% of the set target.
From the reality of workers, especially workers working in shifts at factories, who often lack time to go to traditional markets, the online Tet Market model has shown clear effectiveness. Workers can shop flexibly at any time, even during breaks during working hours, at night, on holidays... Goods are abundant, quality, prioritizing Vietnamese goods, and prices are reasonable, thereby truly becoming a practical and meaningful Tet gift. In addition, businesses have reduced prices and supported free transportation with an amount of up to over 50 billion VND. More importantly, the program has created conditions for workers to feel secure in sticking to the machine, sticking to shifts, contributing to ensuring safe, continuous, stable production and operation activities, serving people to welcome a joyful and warm Tet.
Along with that are activities "Tet Sum vay"; Workers' Family Day; Tet for children; visiting, giving gifts, providing cash support; organizing buses, trains, and trade union flights to take and pick up union members and workers to return to their hometowns for Tet; organizing the Tet not far from home program for those who stay, Tet for workers' children... In the overall picture of taking care of Tet for union members and workers in 2026, many typical models and activities at the industry and grassroots levels have left a strong impression, clearly showing the depth of responsibility and humanity of the Trade Union organization.
Prominent is the "Miner Tet" Program of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited, with a total resource of about 2,452 billion VND, ensuring a full Tet for more than 94,000 miners throughout the Group. Along with that, the "Warm Tet on the Construction Site" programs of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union or "Tet of Affection on the Oil Rigs" of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union continue to affirm the unconditional companionship of the Trade Union with workers in places with harsh working conditions, far from families, far from the mainland...
It is expected that during this Lunar New Year, about 12 million turns of union members, workers and their relatives will benefit from care activities implemented by the Trade Union organization. This figure not only reflects the large scale of the programs, but more importantly, the widespread spread and inclusiveness in the Trade Union's care policy, aimed at all subjects of union members and workers, especially those in difficult circumstances, policy beneficiaries, workers far from home, who have not had the conditions to reunite with their families for many years.
Sir, the organization of flights and trade union trains to support union members and workers returning to their hometowns for Tet has been maintained for many years. Can you tell us the highlights of this care program during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, as well as the meaning of the program for workers, businesses and society?
Supporting train tickets, bus tickets, and air tickets for union members and workers to return to their hometowns for Tet is an activity that the Trade Union organization has continuously and sustainably implemented for many years. In 2025 alone, the number of support increased by about 12% compared to 2024, showing the Trade Union's great efforts in the context of narrowed resources.
Continuing that spirit, in 2026, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor continues to coordinate with Vietnam Airlines Corporation to implement the program with a larger scale and more practical care form. Accordingly, the General Confederation allocates 500 one-way air tickets, along with 500 gifts worth 300,000 VND/gift to the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, Dong Nai province and Tay Ninh province; at the same time, coordinates with Vietnam Railways Corporation to organize "Trade Union Train" with 2,000 two-way train tickets, along with 2,000 gifts for localities and the Vietnam Railway Trade Union. In particular, supported workers can travel with a relative, thereby expanding the humanistic meaning of the program. In addition to flights, trains, and buses organized by the General Confederation level, trade union levels coordinate with employers to organize thousands of buses, trains, and flights for workers and employees to return to their hometowns for Tet.
The organization of flights, trains, and cars named "Trade Union Flights" during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 is the result of close, responsible and meaningful coordination between the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and large, typical transport enterprises such as Vietnam Airlines, Vietnam Railways Corporation and many other transport enterprises.
Private flights named "Trade Union Flights" are organized from February 12 to 16, 2026, departing from Tan Son Nhat airport to localities with many workers far from home such as Hanoi, Nghe An, Thua Thien Hue, creating favorable conditions for workers to reunite with their families early during Tet.
In the context that many union members and workers are still facing difficulties in income, living expenses and travel conditions, the program not only helps reduce financial burdens, but is also a timely recognition and encouragement for workers who strive to stick with and contribute to businesses and society. Besides the social security significance, organizing concentrated travel also contributes to ensuring traffic safety during the peak Tet holiday, reducing pressure on the road traffic system.
The program also clearly demonstrates the role of connecting, coordinating and mobilizing social resources of the Trade Union organization. Through this coordination, businesses such as Vietnam Airlines, Vietnam Railways Corporation and transport businesses have concretized commitments to social responsibility, not only with words but with practical actions, directly directed towards workers.
This is a vivid proof of the image of enterprises, especially state-owned enterprises that both focus on production and business efficiency, and are pioneers in activities for the community and for workers; thereby contributing to building social trust, strong connection with customers and workers, and strongly spreading the spirit of social responsibility throughout society.
Through Tet care activities, what message does the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor want to send to union members and workers nationwide?
Through Tet care activities, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor wishes to send to union members and workers nationwide a consistent and consistent message: Trade unions always accompany and stand side by side with union members and workers; taking the joy and happiness of workers as a driving force for innovation and improving the effectiveness of trade union activities.
We understand the dreams of most workers far from home, Tet is not only a holiday but also an opportunity to return to reunite with their families after a year of hard work. Since then, the Trade Union's care programs, including Flights, Trains, and Trade Union Buses, have been implemented to share difficulties, reduce the burden of travel costs, and help workers have conditions to reunite with their families during Tet.
Through these activities, the Trade Union expresses gratitude for the attachment and trust of union members in the organization, honors the persistent contributions of union members and workers to businesses and to the development of the country; and at the same time sends the belief that, after the Tet reunion days, workers will be motivated, ready to return to work, attached to businesses, and strive to contribute to the double-digit growth target that the Party and State have decided.
From a broader perspective, Tet care activities also show the spirit of solidarity, social responsibility, and are the result of the joint efforts between Trade Unions, businesses and social resources, thereby spreading good human values in the community.
Above all, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor wants to affirm: where there are workers, there are Trade Unions; Trade Unions are always a common home, a fulcrum for workers to feel secure in working, trusting and attached for a long time.
