Join hands for the people of the North
On the morning of September 12, the Ha Tinh Provincial Federation of Labor launched a campaign to support people in the northern provinces affected by storm No. 3 and floods caused by the storm's circulation. At the launch ceremony, more than 250 officials, union members, and workers in Ha Tinh donated at least one day's salary to support people in the northern provinces. Immediately after the launch ceremony, the estimated amount of support was more than 87 million VND.
According to the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor, in recent days, trade unions at all levels in the area have launched a campaign to support people in the northern provinces to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3. The Department of Education and Training and the Quang Binh Provincial Education Trade Union have launched a campaign to support people in areas affected by storms and floods in the northern provinces and cities.
In addition, the Trade Union of CIB Construction Materials Production Joint Stock Company (Quang Trach District) called on workers and employees to donate 20 million VND to the people of the North; the Trade Union of Biwase Quang Binh Joint Stock Company also called on workers and employees of the unit to donate 14.5 million VND to people affected by natural disasters.
Chairwoman of the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor Dinh Thi Ngoc Lan said that the above actions of the trade unions at all levels demonstrate the solidarity and contribution of each union member in the province.
On September 12, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province coordinated with the Education Trade Union of Quang Tri province to launch a campaign to support people in the northern provinces to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3. At the launch ceremony, about 70 million VND was initially raised.
Stop cultural activities, share with people in flood areas
Schools in Quang Tri province have simultaneously sent an open letter to stop all recreational activities and instead turn their attention to the flood-affected areas. Dong Thanh Primary School (Dong Ha City) has announced that it will stop organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival art program. Instead, the school will carry out appropriate activities in each classroom, educating students about the spirit of “helping each other”.
In particular, on September 13, the school spent the first 15 minutes of class to raise funds to support the northern region affected by storm Yagi.
Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School (Dong Ha City) also postponed the lantern making contest, food display contest and art performances on September 16, instead organizing a donation program to help flood-affected people in the North overcome difficulties.
According to the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor, immediately after receiving news of the natural disaster causing heavy damage to the northern provinces, the Labor Unions at all levels in the province coordinated to launch a fundraising campaign to support people in flooded areas.
On the afternoon of September 11, the Party Committee, the Board of Directors of the Department and the Trade Union of the Transport Sector of Nghe An province launched a campaign to call on units and individuals in the sector to support people who suffered heavy losses due to storm No. 3, collecting nearly 300 million VND. Trade unions of the Education, Health, Industry and Trade, Southeast Economic Zone sectors, the Labor Federation of districts, and grassroots trade unions all organized fundraising campaigns... Up to now, according to preliminary statistics, the amount of donations has reached billions of VND.
In addition, union members and workers also contributed goods, necessities, and working days to support people in flood-affected areas.
The Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor has also directed units organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival for children not to organize artistic activities, singing and dancing, lion-dragon dances, with the spirit of mutual love and sharing with people and children in the northern provinces.
Millions of arms turn to compatriots affected by storm number 3
Storm No. 3 (Storm Yagi) caused severe damage and impacts in many provinces in the Northern region.
