Mr. Nguyen Huy Thong - Chairman of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union said that in recent years, patriotic emulation movements in the Vietnam Chemical industry have become an important driving force to promote production and business, arouse the creative spirit of workers and contribute to improving the competitiveness of enterprises.
Accompanying professionals, the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union has well promoted its role as a bridge, organizing many practical emulation movements, towards the goal of business development and caring for the lives of workers.
Imbued with President Ho Chi Minh's teaching: "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism must be emulation", every year, the General Director of Vietnam National Chemical Group and the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union coordinate to launch emulation movements to complete and exceed the production and business plan targets.
Many emulation movements have become highlights throughout the industry such as "Collecting ideas, creative labor, thrift initiatives", "Ensuring labor safety and hygiene and protecting the environment", "Green - Clean - Beautiful"... The emulation content is built specifically, practically, closely following the production and business tasks of each unit and the entire Group.
The movements focus on key tasks such as emulation to overachieve production and business targets, investment in construction; promoting initiatives and technical improvements; ensuring labor safety and hygiene; protecting the environment; building corporate culture; effectively implementing grassroots democracy regulations and taking care of social security for workers.
According to the leader of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union, the consistent requirement of emulation movements is to ensure substantiality, avoid formality, all activities are aimed at improving productivity, quality, production and business efficiency, removing difficulties for businesses and improving the material and spiritual lives of workers.
Through emulation movements, the spirit of creative labor has been strongly awakened in the working class. Thousands of initiatives and technical solutions have been applied to production practice, contributing to improving labor productivity, reducing consumption of raw materials, reducing product costs, improving working conditions, reducing labor accidents and improving environmental protection efficiency.
The achieved results have been recognized by all levels and sectors. The Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union was awarded the emulation flag of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in 2023; received certificates of merit from the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade in 2024 and 2025.
At grassroots trade unions, 33 collectives were awarded emulation flags of all kinds; 2,849 collectives and individuals were awarded certificates of merit; 5 individuals were awarded the title of Good Laborer in the Industry and Trade sector; 50 individuals were awarded the title of Good Laborer in the Chemical sector; 30 good managers in the Chemical sector; 44 people were awarded Creative Labor Certificates.
In particular, in the past 5 years, the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union has coordinated with the Group to organize 3 conferences to commend and reward 60 management officials and 300 direct workers with outstanding achievements in emulation movements. These typical advanced examples not only spread the spirit of creativity and responsibility but also create motivation for workers to continue to contribute and stick with the business.
Before the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, Mr. Nguyen Huy Thong - Chairman of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union - expressed his expectation that the Congress will propose breakthrough solutions to continue innovating the content and methods of trade union activities, improving the effectiveness of patriotic emulation movements in the new situation.
According to Mr. Nguyen Huy Thong, in the context of digital transformation, green transformation and increasingly deep international integration, trade union organizations need to continue to promote their representative role, care for and protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers; and at the same time continue to create a favorable environment for workers to promote initiatives, technical improvements, improve professional qualifications and labor productivity.
He also expected that the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union will continue to affirm the role of the patriotic emulation movement as an important driving force to promote production development, improve the competitiveness of enterprises, and contribute to building a modern and strong Vietnamese worker force, meeting the requirements of national development in the new period.
Currently, the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union is a group trade union directly under the Vietnam Trade Union, managing 41 grassroots trade unions with nearly 20,000 officials, workers, civil servants, and laborers. Units under the Vietnam National Chemical Group operate in many important fields such as fertilizer production, rubber, batteries, basic chemicals, detergents, mining and pesticides.
