Diversifying cultural and sports activities
Mr. Le Van Dai, Permanent Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation (DOLF) said: In recent times, Da Nang City's trade unions at all levels have proactively coordinated with the government, branches and localities to organize a series of rich cultural, artistic and sports programs.
In particular, the annual Workers' Month has become a peak occasion with many large-scale and outstanding playgrounds such as the City Workers', Civil Servants' and Laborers' Sports Festival attracting thousands of athletes.
These activities not only help workers improve their health, but also arouse the spirit of solidarity, creating motivation to successfully complete production and business tasks.
In addition, the Trade Union of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones, Quang Nam (old) organized competitions "Workers' Singing", "Elegant Couple", folk games, discount fairs... with the participation and encouragement of thousands of workers and their families. These are truly cultural festivals, making an impression in the lives of workers.
An impressive figure is that in just 10 years of implementing Directive No. 52-CT/TW dated January 9, 2016 of the Central Party Secretariat on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in improving the spiritual life of workers in industrial parks and export processing zones", nearly 19,456 cultural and artistic activities have been organized by trade unions at all levels in Da Nang, attracting nearly 1 million participants.
Along with that, art programs serving workers with the participation of famous artists are invested in a large scale, from 500700 million VND per program, organized alternately in large industrial parks such as Hoa Khanh, Hoa Cam, An Don.
In particular, the Da Nang City Labor Federation has directed the establishment of 5 union cultural activity points at FDI enterprises. This is where workers can read books, interact, learn about the law, and relax after work. The formation of these small but practical spaces contributes to bringing culture closer to workers.
Sustainable foundation for spiritual life
Not only stopping at movement activities, the construction of trade union cultural institutions is focused on and exploited effectively. At Hoa Cam Industrial Park Workers' Housing, there is a law library, mini soccer field, badminton court serving workers and self-managed groups of the boarding house.
The Hoa Khanh Industrial Park Workers' Culture - Sports Center with an investment of more than 4.5 billion VND has become a community activity venue. Along with that, the Labor Culture House in Dien Nam - Dien Ngoc Industrial Park has been invested in with 4 badminton courts, 500-seat hall, stage, meeting room, outdoor exercise equipment... which have promoted the effectiveness of caring for workers' lives.
Notably, the City People's Council has approved the policy of building the Eastern Labor Culture House with an area of over 7,400m2, with a total estimated investment of VND 52 billion. When completed, this project will meet the needs of cultural activities of workers and union members in the An Hai and Son Tra areas - where many industrial parks and workers' dormitories are concentrated.
These institutions are not only a place for entertainment and training, but also a "common home" for workers to find sharing, connect the community, and spread the spirit of "Union for workers".
According to Mr. Le Van Dai, the results that the Trade Union organization has achieved in the past time in caring for the cultural and spiritual life of workers in industrial parks and export processing zones are partly due to the leadership of the City Party Committee, Provincial Party Committee, the coordination of the government and the creativity of the Trade Union organization.
Here, the Da Nang City Labor Federation determined to continue to select and replicate effective models from the two localities of Da Nang and Quang Nam (old), while linking workers' cultural activities with grassroots cultural institutions. The consistent goal is to " best care for the cultural and spiritual life of workers", contributing to building a team of workers who are both healthy and long-term committed to the development of the city and the country.
