On June 6, the Da Nang City Labor Federation held a ceremony to commend, reward and award scholarships to children of workers, civil servants and laborers with outstanding achievements in the 2024-202 school year.
This time, the Da Nang City Labor Federation has spent more than 500 million VND to award 566 scholarships to students, including: Awarding scholarships worth 1,000,000 VND/scholarship to 193 students of workers and civil servants who have excellently won prizes in international competitions, national high school excellent exam and won first prize in the city-level 12th and 9th grade excellent student competition.
Awarded 73 scholarships to children of full-time union officials, each worth 500,000 VND; 1 gift worth 1 million VND to a child in difficult circumstances from the interest rate of the Golden Heart Fund of Lao Dong Newspaper.
Awarded scholarships worth VND 1,000,000/scholarship to 300 children of workers and civil servants in difficult circumstances. This fund of commendation was transferred to the grassroots union to hand over to students and children of union members, workers and civil servants who have made many efforts to overcome difficulties and study well in the 2024-2025 school year.
Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh, member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, member of the City Party Committee, President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, said: Commending and rewarding children of workers, civil servants, and laborers with outstanding achievements in the school year is an annual activity of the Da Nang Trade Union.
Through activities to propagate and raise awareness and responsibility of trade unions at all levels, union members, workers and civil servants for family and children's work, ensure the implementation of children's rights, promote child care, protection and education, join hands to improve the living environment for children, create opportunities for children to live in a safe, healthy and comprehensive environment for development.
