Many activities to take care of workers during Tet
In a series of activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, up to now, the union has supported more than 80,000 gifts for workers in difficult circumstances, each worth 1 million VND (including 700,000 VND in cash and 1 gift worth 300,000 VND).
The Union also visited and presented gifts to 2,688 workers in difficult circumstances, who had occupational accidents during work, had a working capacity reduction of 20% or more, or suffered from serious illnesses, each case received 2 million VND (including 1.7 million VND in cash and a gift worth 300,000 VND). Supported 30,000 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, for union members and workers in difficult circumstances who had occupational accidents, serious illnesses, lost their jobs, and had not been able to return home for Tet for many years, with a total amount of 30 billion VND (from Dong Nai province's budget).
Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor also coordinated with the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Nai Province to present 100 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances in the province, each gift worth 800,000 VND (Dong Nai Provincial National Assembly Delegation presented 500,000 VND in cash, Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor presented 1 gift worth 300,000 VND).
Ms. Nguyen Thi Oanh (52 years old) - a worker at Cu Thanh Company Limited (Long Thanh District) shared that she is from Hau Giang Province, has been a worker for 8 years, her husband is a construction worker and helps raise 3 children, life is very difficult. Receiving gifts from the union, she feels very happy and warm during the upcoming Lunar New Year.
The Provincial Federation of Labor also supported 1,000 train tickets for union members and workers who are unable to return home to celebrate the Lunar New Year of At Ty in 2025 with a total amount of more than 2.1 billion VND. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor supported 350 round-trip train tickets and 92 air tickets for union members, workers and their relatives to return home to celebrate Tet. The trains depart from Bien Hoa station to Vinh station, Thanh Hoa station, and Hanoi station. The expected time is December 24, 25, 26, and 27 (from January 23 to 26, 2025).
Strengthen care to affirm the role of trade unions
Also according to information from the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor, in 2025, with the theme "Focusing on developing union members, participating in building a clean and strong Party", the Trade Union organization will promote the work of developing union members, establishing grassroots unions, introducing outstanding union members to the Party for consideration, training and admission to the Party. This is an important task that requires the determination of the entire provincial trade union system.
Therefore, from the beginning of 2025, Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor assigned targets to affiliated trade union units to deploy implementation solutions; at the same time, step up surveys of units and enterprises without trade union organizations, especially enterprises with 25 or more employees to propagate the establishment of grassroots trade unions, innovate approaches, and mobilize workers to join trade unions.
Trade unions at all levels promote activities to care for the material and spiritual lives of workers to affirm the role of trade unions in accompanying the lives and work of union members and workers.
In addition, each grassroots trade union unit introduces one outstanding mass for Party organizations to consider admitting, especially trade union cadres, direct production workers, religious workers, and ethnic minority workers.
Currently, Dong Nai province has nearly 3,000 grassroots trade unions with nearly 677,000 union members, the attendance rate is over 95%.
