In May 2025, in response to Workers' Month, the Trade Union of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company chose a key series of activities to organize the "Union Meal" program for departmental trade unions at member companies.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Thu Thuy - Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company, the program is implemented at 5 factories, serving nearly 2,000 meals.
Unlike the daily shift meal, each meal in the "Union Meal" is supplemented with main dishes and desserts, increasing the quantity and value of meals, increasing from 35,000 - 50,000 VND/meal.
At the meals, business leaders and trade unions sat together to eat, listen to the thoughts and shares of union members and workers; at the same time, presented gifts of gratitude, created a friendly and cohesive atmosphere, contributing to building a unit and enterprise to develop sustainably.
At Long Sinh Company Limited, in 2024, for the first time, the grassroots union proposed that the enterprise leaders organize a "Union Meal". The program is implemented by the Union allocating funds, combined with a support level of 25,000 VND/meal from the enterprise, increasing the value of meals to 60,000 VND/meal.
In the meal, Nha Trang specialties such as broken rice are included instead of daily shift meals, bringing an interesting experience. Nearly 150 union members and employees of the company attended, all were happy, excited and praised the program.
Recognizing the humanistic value of the operation, since then, Long Sinh Company Limited has maintained a "Union Meal" every 3 months, contributing to strengthening the bond between leaders and employees.

According to the leader of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor, implementing the Resolution of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on improving the quality of shift meals for union members, in the past term, trade unions at all levels have actively negotiated and developed practical activities to increase the value of meals for workers, in accordance with actual conditions.
Most businesses in the area have organized shift meals relatively well, the quality is improving. In particular, the "Union Meal" program is being implemented more widely and diversely.
Statistics show that the whole province has had 1,236 grassroots trade unions organizing "Union Meals", with thousands of union members and workers benefiting, with a total cost of nearly 2.5 billion VND.
Some grassroots trade unions also organize meals with high value from 70,000 - 100,000 VND/meal, while integrating activities to thank long-term employees. Many places consider this an opportunity for workers and union officials to share and feel confident, creating an atmosphere of solidarity and understanding in the collective.
Through the program, the quality of meals for union members and workers at the grassroots level has been improved, while contributing to strengthening the trust and attachment of workers to the trade union organization.
