In Ham Thang ward - an area heavily affected by the recent flood, the Ward Union has quickly implemented relief activities and provided food to people in deeply flooded areas.
Ms. Tran Thi Xuan Tham, Chairwoman of Ham Thang Ward Trade Union, said that as of the afternoon of October 31, the unit had received contributions from businesses and individuals with a total value of 50 million VND and many necessities.
The union presented 400 gifts, 100 boxes of instant noodles, 200 loafers of bread and 300 meals to the people; at the same time, coordinated with the Tien Thanh Ward Union to mobilize additional support for instant noodles and drinking water worth 5 million VND.
The work of receiving and distributing relief goods is still being carried out to promptly help people overcome difficulties.
In Binh Thuan ward, the area with 12 grassroots unions in Phan Thiet Industrial Park was also deeply flooded, making it impossible for workers to go to work.
The Standing Committee of the Ward Trade Union has requested grassroots trade unions to pay attention, encourage, and visit union members and workers who suffered losses; at the same time, coordinate with enterprises to create conditions for workers to take a day off due to floods but still receive 100% of their salary.
In recent days, union officials in localities in Lam Dong province have been proactive and urgent in relief work with a high sense of responsibility.
The cooperation and sharing of the trade union and benefactors have contributed to helping people, union members and workers in flooded areas soon stabilize their lives and restore production after natural disasters.
