New resolution on building a working class is needed soon
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held a conference to collect comments from union officials, union members, and workers in the Southern region on draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party in Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of October 31. Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong chaired the conference.
After analyzing the actual employment situation, income, and life of workers, as well as studying to improve the qualifications, skills, and political courage of workers today, Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - suggested that the Party's documents should clarify the need to strengthen training, fostering to improve qualifications, professional skills, political theory and give opportunities, creating opportunities for the working class to have enough opportunities and capacity to be the leading class.
Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan also suggested that it is necessary to soon have a new resolution on building GCCN, especially in the new context when digital transformation, application of technology, and artificial intelligence are increasingly expanded.
Mr. Phan Thanh Liem - Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor - proposed to build a system of universities and vocational colleges at world-class level to train qualifications and skills for workers. At the same time, it creates conditions for trade unions and workers to participate more and more in social governance.
Ms. Pham Thi Quyen, Tay Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor, suggested that it is necessary to create conditions for workers to improve their qualifications to participate in the national labor productivity and quality improvement strategy. At the same time, it is necessary to harmonize the interests of employers and employees.
Some opinions of trade union officials also suggested that it is necessary to harmonize the interests of employers and employees; building a team of Vietnamese entrepreneurs must be associated with the solution of building the Vietnamese GCCN because these are two closely linked entities, supporting each other to build and develop together, there should be a specific requirement for the business community to always respect the labor values of employees, harmonize the interests of both sides, Vietnamese entrepreneurs must truly respect the law, especially the rights of employees.
The representative of the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor proposed that there should be a strategy to promote the building of cultural life among workers; strengthen the building of digital vocational education in workers, build harmonious, progressive and humane labor relations in enterprises.
Expressing the expectations of cadres, union members, and workers for the 14th National Party Congress
Speaking at the conference, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong emphasized: The draft documents submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party are the crystallization of the intelligence, enthusiasm and strategic vision of the entire Party, people and army. The draft has many important contents directly related to the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union organization.
Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong commented: The comments are all democratic opinions, frankly expressing the responsibility, belief and expectations of cadres, union members and workers towards the Party and the 14th National Party Congress.
The opinions and presentations have proposed reasonable revisions and supplements, theoretical and practical solutions to make the GCCN truly a pioneering and creative force adapting to the wave of digital transformation and integration, while promoting the important and core role of the Vietnam Trade Union in building the GCCN.
At the same time, it emphasized the need to innovate, strengthen the leadership of the Party, perfect the mechanism for the Vietnam Trade Union to innovate, operate more effectively and flexibly, focus on the grassroots, take workers as the center, constantly improve negotiation skills, dialogue and social criticism ability.
The Organizing Committee of the conference will fully synthesize the presentations and comments of delegates in the report on the synthesis of general comments of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to send to the Central Steering Committee in accordance with the general progress.
