On April 29, Lien Chieu Ward Trade Union informed that the unit had coordinated with the Ward People's Committee to organize the Opening Ceremony of the 1st Lien Chieu Ward Pickleball Tournament in 2026. This is a practical sports playground to respond to Workers' Month 2026 and celebrate the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026).
The tournament gathered nearly 200 athletes (athletes) who are officials, trade union members, and workers from agencies, units, businesses and residential areas in the ward.
At the 1st Lien Chieu Ward Pickleball Tournament in 2026, the Organizing Committee divided into 5 competition blocks, including: Leaders and guests block; Grassroots Trade Union block managed by the Ward Trade Union; Cadre, civil servant, public employee, worker block of the ward; Residential area block and Enterprise, school block. In the Grassroots Trade Union block, athletes will participate in 2 events: men's doubles and mixed doubles.
According to the Tournament Regulations, the qualifying matches will take place in the format of 1 set reaching 11 points (two teams exchange courts when one team reaches 6 points). In the Semi-finals and Finals, each set will reach 15 points (exchange courts when reaching 8 points). After the days of exciting competition, the Organizing Committee will summarize and award prizes to athletes and pairs of athletes with the best performances.
