Amidst the sound of silk fostering machines running smoothly in the workshop, workers of Yen Bai Silkworm Company (Tran Yen commune, Lao Cai province) are still diligently working on each white silk reel.
With nearly 100 union members, for many years, the company's trade union organization has become a fulcrum for workers to feel secure in sticking with and competing in labor production.
Not stopping at activities to care for union members' lives, the Trade Union of Yen Bai Silkworm Company also links the emulation movement with production and business tasks, creating motivation for workers to promote initiatives, improve productivity and product quality.
Movements such as "Good labor, creative labor", "Promoting technical innovation initiatives", "Green - clean - beautiful, ensuring labor safety and hygiene" are regularly implemented, creating a vibrant emulation atmosphere throughout the factory.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoan - a member of the company's trade union - shared: "Emulation is not just a slogan but a motivation for everyone to try to do their job better. Everyone wants to improve their skills so that the products produced are of the best quality.
From production reality, many initiatives of union members have been effectively applied such as improving the operation process of automatic silk incubators, optimizing the cocoon sorting stage, reducing raw material loss in the production process...
These improvements not only help businesses save costs but also improve silk quality and increase competitiveness in the market.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Dong - Chairman of the Trade Union of Yen Bai Silkworm Company - said: "The Trade Union always encourages union members to boldly propose initiatives. When workers are promoted their abilities, businesses also develop more sustainably.

Not only operating within the factory, the Trade Union of Yen Bai Silkworm Company also expands its role in connecting with mulberry growers in Tran Yen, Quy Mong, Hung Khanh, Luong Thinh, Viet Hong, Au Lau communes...
This is considered an important "link" to help build a sustainable linkage chain between businesses and farmers in the development of the silkworm industry.
The company's technical staff regularly go to the raw material area to guide people on techniques for mulberry care, silkworm breeding and disease treatment.
One of the important contributions of the trade union is to work with businesses to maintain a stable and transparent coconut purchasing mechanism, helping people feel secure in production.
Previously, many mulberry and silkworm farming households depended on private traders and were often pressured on prices. But since businesses built raw material linkage areas, the purchase price of cocoons has been maintained at a more stable level, creating confidence for people to expand production.
Now selling cocoons to the factory is very reassuring, there is no longer the scene of worrying about being pressured on prices as before," Mr. Tran Van Toan, a local resident, expressed.
Mr. Vi Viet Trung - Chairman of Tran Yen Commune Trade Union - assessed that the linkage model between businesses, trade unions and people in the silkworm industry is an effective direction, contributing to solving employment, increasing income for workers and promoting local economic development.
This is also proof of the role of trade union organizations in accompanying businesses to develop sustainably, making positive contributions to the goal of building new rural areas and reducing poverty in mountainous areas.
With positive contributions, many collectives and union members of Yen Bai Silkworm Company have received certificates of merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation and local authorities.
