Lao Cai Trade Union promotes care for workers in Tran Yen

Lao Cai - Provincial Trade Union works with Tran Yen commune to discuss solutions to improve the effectiveness of caring for union members and workers.

On April 9, the Standing Committee of the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) worked with the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Tran Yen commune, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and the Commune Trade Union on coordination in implementing tasks in 2026.

Reports at the working session showed that the Tran Yen Commune Trade Union was established from July 1, 2025, currently managing 24 grassroots trade unions with 1,294 union members.

In general, the jobs and lives of workers, civil servants, and laborers in the area are basically stable, with average income at enterprises reaching about 6 million VND/person/month.

Over the past time, the Commune Trade Union has proactively coordinated to implement many practical activities to care for union members. Prominent are the programs "Tet reunion - Spring of Gratitude to the Party", "Trade Union Meals", supporting union members affected by natural disasters and those in difficult circumstances.

During the 2026 Lunar New Year, the Commune Trade Union presented 354 gifts with a total value of more than 322 million VND. Grassroots trade unions also organized care for 632 turns of union members with a total budget of 952 million VND.

In addition, 2 union members were supported with funds to build "Trade Union Shelter" houses with a total amount of 100 million VND.

In addition to the achieved results, the conference also pointed out some difficulties and limitations in the operation process, especially when implementing the two-level local government model, it is necessary to continue to have appropriate solutions to overcome them.

Speaking at the working session, leaders of Tran Yen commune and Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation acknowledged the efforts of the Commune Trade Union, and at the same time requested that in the coming time, it continue to strengthen coordination with the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front and mass organizations, improve operational efficiency, and better protect the rights of workers.

On the same day, the working delegation visited and worked with the grassroots Trade Union of Yen Bai Silkworm Joint Stock Company to grasp the actual situation of union members and workers at the enterprise.
