Timely support before the new school year
The new school year is approaching, and it is also the time when the worry about tuition fees weighs heavily on the shoulders of parents who are workers and laborers in difficult circumstances. Understanding those difficulties, right on the occasion of the birthday of Chairman Ton Duc Thang, the outstanding son of An Giang homeland, the founder of the Vietnam Trade Union organization, the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with CEP Microfinance Organization to organize the program "CEP Scholarship and Learning Awarding Ceremony - Year 2026" in Long Xuyen.
With 49 scholarships, 26 study gifts with a total value of over 100 million VND, this support is truly a "timely rain" for families struggling to make a living. Typically, Huynh Chi Hieu (Binh Thoi 1 hamlet, Binh Duc ward), orphaned from a very young age, unfortunately suffers from hyperactivity and developmental impairment.
Hieu's life completely depends on his grandfather who is disabled in his legs and cannot go to work, and his grandmother who works hard every day carrying a basket to sell coffee on the street with extremely precarious income. Or like the case of Duong Minh Man (Binh Thoi 2 hamlet, Binh Duc ward), the pain of orphaning her father came early. Her mother had a new family, leaving Man for her grandparents to take care of. She grew up thanks to the meager motorbike taxi trips of her elderly grandfather and the patchwork of her sick grandmother.
Moved by the lives struggling to knock on the door of knowledge like that, Mr. Le Vo Tan Luy - Deputy General Director of CEP - shared his concern: "After each scholarship awarding event, the thing we care about most is not how much money has been given, but how to find ways to increase the number of caregivers next time. Because although the State's policies are increasingly close and widely covered, somewhere there are still unfortunate lives of workers due to many unwanted reasons, it is very necessary for the Trade Union organization to join hands to support.
Take care of material things, transmit motivation
Not only stopping at sharing the financial burden, with thoughtful attention, the Trade Union organization also subtly sends CEP scholarships with warm and emotional gifts, imbued with motivation.
Moved by the small but energetic students, Mr. Do Tran Thinh - Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation - gave the most sincere words of encouragement to ignite the fire for them: "Parents may not have given the children a truly fulfilling life, but are trying to give them the most precious thing - the opportunity to study and grow up. Never be self-conscious about your circumstances. Difficulties are not something to be ashamed of. Not trying is regrettable." With sincere feelings, Mr. Thinh gave the children the "stick of faith" to firmly overcome hardships, towards the future: The starting point does not determine the destination, but the will will shape the future.
Mr. Do Tran Thinh advised: "Today, CEP scholarships come to the children not just as a gift, it is a sending of faith... The Trade Union officials of the province hope that the children will remember that: When their parents are still struggling to make a living, behind them there are still families, teachers and the Trade Union organization always caring and accompanying them.
The event closed, but opened up a strong impression of the humanistic message and irreplaceable role of the Vietnam Trade Union organization: Not only a solid material support, but also a companion to add spiritual strength, ignite faith and give wings to the never-ending dreams of workers' children.
