The project to install the 500kV West Hanoi Transformer Station 2 is invested by EVNNPT, NPTPMB is assigned to manage and operate the project, and Power Transmission Company 1 will receive the operation.
The project is deployed within the existing fence of the 500kV West Hanoi Transformer Station, in Hung Dao commune. The project has a main scale of installing a 500/220/35kV AT2 transformer with a capacity of 900MVA. After completion, the station's capacity will increase to 1,800MVA.
After completion, the project will help strengthen the supply of electricity to Hanoi city; ensure the operation of power supply in N-1 incidents; receive power from hydropower plants in the Northwest region and support existing 220kV transformer stations in the area; increase stability and safe operation of the power grid; reduce power loss in the power transmission grid, increase production and business efficiency of EVNNPT.
Clearly identifying the urgency of the project, in recent times, EVNNPT leaders have regularly paid attention; resolutely directed the management, NPTPMB and contractors to focus resources ( materials; human resources, vehicles, construction machinery; finance for construction) to speed up construction to meet the set schedule, while closely coordinating with the dispatching agency to create conditions for power outages for construction.
Clearly identifying the urgency of the project, in recent times, NPTPMB has focused resources, requiring contractors to increase the addition of human resources, vehicles, and machinery to speed up construction to meet the set schedule.
At the encouragement meeting with workers at the construction site, Vice Chairman of EVNNPT Trade Union Nguyen Huy Thang acknowledged the efforts of NPTPMB staff and construction units who have made efforts to overcome many difficulties and challenges to gradually bring the project to the finish line. This is a project with urgent preparation and implementation time, while requiring construction under the condition that the related equipment is running on electricity.
The leaders of EVNNPT Trade Union suggested that during the final stage, project participants need to focus highly, especially focusing on safety in construction. NPTPMB closely coordinates with relevant agencies to organize construction and energize the project in accordance with EVNNPT's direction - in mid-September 2025.
