In recent days, when she learned that her family was included in the list of free trips on the "Spring Train" by the Trade Union of Nissei Electric Vietnam Company (Linh Trung 1 Export Processing Zone, Ho Chi Minh City) to return home to reunite with her family in Hanoi, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet, an employee of Nissei Electric Vietnam Company, was very excited.
Sharing with Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Ms. Tuyet said that her family is in difficult circumstances, her parents are old and weak, she herself is sick and has just had surgery, so although she misses home very much, due to difficulties, for the past 4 years she has not been able to return home to celebrate Tet with her family.
“I am very excited to receive the attention and proposal from the Trade Union of the Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City to be included in the list of people who can travel for free on the “Spring Train” to return home to reunite with my family, because it helps my family save time and money on buying tickets. Just counting the train ticket price on the days before Tet, which is more than 2 million VND/person/ticket, my family has saved nearly 10 million VND on train tickets to visit and reunite with my family during Tet. Thanks to the Trade Union, my family can reunite during Tet, I really thank the Trade Union very much” - Ms. Tuyet said emotionally.
Ms. Tran Thi Hong Van - President of the Trade Union of Nissei Electric Vietnam Company - said that this year, the Trade Union of the Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City allocated to the Company Trade Union - selected 14 families of workers with difficult circumstances and good achievements in work, actively participating in Trade Union activities to get free travel on the "Spring Train" to return home to reunite with their families. The workers and the company's board of directors were very excited and supportive when they saw the Trade Union taking care of union members and workers.
Mr. Luu Kim Hong - Chairman of the Trade Union of Nidec Vietnam Company - said that the Trade Union is currently coordinating with the company to prepare to rent a car to take employees home for Tet. This year, the company plans to continue to sponsor 100% of the seat bus fare for employees who have worked at the company for 10 years or more, and 90% for employees who have worked for less than 10 years. Employees will pay a little more to travel by sleeper bus.
“In the 2024 Lunar New Year, nearly 920 employees of the company were able to take company-sponsored buses to go home for Tet with a total cost of over 760 million VND. Currently, the Union is still organizing for union members and employees to register until December 31 to take buses to go home for Tet and be welcomed back to work at the company,” said Mr. Hong.
Spending billions of dong to send workers home for Tet
Mr. Lam Ngoc Man - Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City - said that on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the Trade Union of Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City will organize the "Spring Train" train ticket giveaway to bring nearly 1,600 families of union members and workers working in enterprises in the Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City back to their hometowns to reunite with their families for Tet, with priority given to those whose families come from Binh Dinh province to Hanoi.
To date, nearly 1,830 union members, employees and their relatives have been considered for free tickets worth nearly 3.72 billion VND. Union members and employees considered for free tickets are those with good achievements in labor, production and union activities.
The Trade Union of Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City will give 31 air tickets worth about 110 million VND to union members with many initiatives, technical improvements, benefiting enterprises from 50 million VND or more, or union members who won the Nguyen Van Linh, Ton Duc Thang, 28.7 awards, Certificate of Merit for Creative Labor of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, are in difficult circumstances, have not returned home for Tet for 3 years...
Mr. Pham Chi Tam - Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - said that on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024, Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation at all levels organized and coordinated with businesses to give away plane, train, and car tickets and bring nearly 40,000 union members and workers back to their hometowns for Tet and welcome workers back to work.
Currently, trade unions at all levels are continuing to organize for union members and employees to register for free travel on trains and buses organized by the union or in coordination with businesses. It is expected that the number of union members and employees sent home by the union to celebrate Tet At Ty 2025 and return to work will increase by about 10% compared to Tet Giap Thin 2024.
