Workers hope for a full Tet, with peace of mind in their salaries and bonuses
From the reality of life and employment today, many union members and workers expressed very specific wishes for salary, bonus, benefits and conditions to celebrate Tet in the context of many economic difficulties.
Ms. Huynh Thi Minh, a garment worker in Hoa Phu Industrial Park, said that her biggest wish for each Tet holiday is to have her salary and bonuses paid in full and on time so that her family can proactively spend.
According to Ms. Minh, when their income is stable, the family can shop to repair Tet holiday in a budget, without having to borrow, and workers can feel secure in sticking with the business for a long time.
"Early publicization of salary and bonus plans helps workers feel secure at the end of the year, avoid anxiety, thereby focusing on production and labor, and completing assigned tasks well," Ms. Minh added.

Not only garment workers, Mr. Le Trung Tin, a construction worker working in Giao Long Industrial Park, said that stable income and appropriate Tet bonuses are the most important things.
Mr. Tin shared that when businesses fully care about their rights, workers will feel secure in their work, and have more motivation to return to factories and construction sites right after the Tet holiday.
"The support of trade unions in salary and bonus supervision helps workers gain more confidence, stay long-term, and limit the situation of quitting or changing jobs after Tet," Mr. Tin added.
From the perspective of workers far from home, Mr. Ha Cong Minh, from Binh Duong (before the merger), currently a construction worker in Giao Long Industrial Park, expressed his desire to be supported with means to return home for Tet.
Mr. Minh said that travel expenses often increase at the end of the year, while income is still limited, causing many workers to hesitate and worry when they want to return home to reunite with their families.
According to Mr. Minh, if there are charity trips organized by the union, workers far from home will feel more secure, reduce spending pressure, and celebrate Tet fully with their loved ones.
Taking care of Tet practically, focusing on the grassroots
Talking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor - said that activities to care for the 2026 Binh Ngo Lunar New Year are organized in a practical and effective manner, avoiding formality and waste. The new point this year is that the total resources and number of subjects to be cared for must be higher than previous years, while focusing on the grassroots.
The grassroots trade union coordinates and mobilizes resources from enterprises, local authorities and higher-level trade unions to organize buses, trains, and flights to take and pick up workers to return home for Tet.
According to Mr. Linh, the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan An Dang" is a key activity at the provincial level, expected to attract about 700 union members to participate, combined with launching an emulation movement in early 2026.

"Union Meal" continues to be maintained, creating a space for connection between workers, employers and local leaders; each meal is supported with 70,000 VND from union finances, combined with socialization.
In addition, the Provincial Federation of Labor will guide union members to participate in the online "Union Tet Market" organized by the General Confederation of Labor, making shopping more convenient.
The Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor also directly visited and presented gifts to workers with terminal illnesses, those in especially difficult circumstances and those who had to work on New Year's Eve.
"Union levels will increase dialogue, promptly detect and handle cases of corporate unpaid wages and evasion, thereby protecting the legitimate and legal rights of workers, in the spirit of not leaving anyone behind during Tet," Mr. Linh added.
