New development of 30,024 union members
In 2025, Vinh Long Provincial Trade Union will continue to affirm its role as a reliable support for workers with many outstanding results in caring for and protecting the rights of union members. The whole province currently has 169,462 union members, an increase of 30,024 people compared to the beginning of the year, showing the influence of the Trade Union organization after streamlining the apparatus.
Towards the grassroots, trade unions at all levels proactively innovate the content and methods of operation, focusing on practical issues of workers and laborers.
The highlight is the Trade Union Shelter and Medical Shelter programs, when they have supported the construction and repair of 99 houses, reaching 247.5% of the plan, bringing long-term peace of mind to union members in difficulty.
In addition, trade union legal consulting groups have consulted and supported 7,855 cases related to wages, insurance and labor benefits, contributing to limiting disputes and stabilizing labor relations at enterprises.
During Workers' Month 2025, Vinh Long Trade Union also mobilized more than 6.5 billion VND from socialized sources to take care of welfare, give gifts and organize cultural and spiritual activities for workers.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nam - a worker in Binh Minh Industrial Park - said that in the past, shift meals at the enterprise have been significantly improved, better meeting the needs of workers.
According to Mr. Nam, with a spending of 20,000 VND/meal, the meals are guaranteed nutrition, food hygiene and safety, helping workers feel secure at work and stay with the company for a long time.
As a union member supported by the Trade Union Shelter, Mr. Vo Van Nhi - a worker at New Increase Company - said that the new house is a great spiritual support for the family after many years of living in temporary conditions.
"The Trade Union Shelter Program has helped families stabilize their housing, settle down, and no longer worry when the rainy and stormy season comes, thereby working and producing with peace of mind," Mr. Nhi added.
Strong focus on the grassroots
Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor - emphasized that 2026 is the first year of implementing the resolutions of the 1st Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor, term 2025 - 2030, which is especially important for the entire union system.
According to Mr. Linh, Vinh Long Trade Union identifies the strong orientation towards the grassroots as a consistent orientation. The focus is to continue reviewing and consolidating the organizational apparatus after the merger, improving operational efficiency, increasing in depth to promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers.
Along with that, the Provincial Trade Union will promote the program "Helping workers", focusing on supporting union members from poor households and those in difficult circumstances to escape poverty sustainably. This is considered a provincial-level initiative model that has promoted practical effectiveness and will continue to be replicated in 2026.
The Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor also said that the unit will focus on implementing documents guiding the implementation of the 2024 Trade Union Law, considering the protection of the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members as a core, continuous task.
