Mr. Tran Dinh Quyet - Information Technology Engineer - VNPT Ninh Binh - said that as a worker in the technology sector, he sees the concern of the VNPT Trade Union (under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology) in general, and VNPT Ninh Binh in particular, not only stopping at caring for welfare but also accompanying workers in the face of very rapid changes in technology.
I clearly feel that trade unions at all levels under the VNPT Trade Union are shifting from following the movement to listening to needs. In particular, the trade union uses data and survey results of the happiness index to build welfare programs in a more personalized and appropriate direction. When workers are listened to, given conditions to develop and have a positive working environment, we will have more motivation to be creative, contribute and stick with VNPT for a long time," Mr. Quyet said.
According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Chairman of VNPT Trade Union, the rapid development of science, technology and digital transformation is profoundly changing the methods of production, business administration and labor organization globally. This change poses new requirements for trade union organizations in the direction of not only taking care of welfare in the traditional way but also strongly shifting to the role of creating a humane working environment - where workers are guaranteed legitimate and lawful rights and interests, comprehensive development, long-term attachment and effective contribution to the development of businesses and society.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan said that in recent years, employee happiness has been increasingly focused on in modern corporate governance. In the digital age, employee happiness is not just an individual feeling but is becoming a strategic indicator reflecting the quality of management, competitiveness and sustainable development of enterprises. Deeply aware of this, in the past time, VNPT Trade Union has deeply participated in building a humane working environment and promoting the connection between employees and businesses.
With more than 46,000 union members and workers nationwide, the VNPT Trade Union has implemented many practical programs to care for material and spiritual life, protect rights and gradually create an increasingly better working environment for workers.
One of the highlights is the multi-layered welfare system for workers: Early and remote health care; occupational disease prevention; support for workers in difficult circumstances; childbirth support; visiting parents; awarding scholarships to workers' children.
From the foundation of caring for welfare, the VNPT Trade Union has gradually shifted to accompanying, leading and inspiring each worker not only to work effectively, but also to feel satisfaction, pride and happiness. Towards building a worker's happiness ecosystem, in which workers are guaranteed rights, are listened to, are given conditions for comprehensive development and work in an innovative, creative, respectful, fair and humane environment," said Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan.
Also according to Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, at the end of 2024, the VNPT Trade Union conducted a survey and survey of the VNPT employee happiness index in three groups of fields: employment, income and working conditions; social and family relationships; personal life. The result reached 7.38/10 points.
Based on survey data, the VNPT Trade Union proposed specific solutions to improve material and spiritual life, working environment and quality of life. The goal by the end of 2030 is for the VNPT employee happiness index to reach 7.93/10 points.
