Target of establishing grassroots trade unions to reach early
On June 8, Nam Phuoc Commune Trade Union, Da Nang City organized a conference to summarize the Trade Union activities and the movement of workers, civil servants and laborers in the first 6 months of the year.
In the first 6 months of 2026, many key targets of Nam Phuoc Trade Union achieved positive results, in which the target of establishing grassroots trade unions was completed early.
Nam Phuoc Commune Trade Union has developed over 944 union members, reaching 55.8% of the annual target; established 3/3 grassroots trade unions, reaching 100% of the 2026 target; introduced 11/20 outstanding union members to the Party for consideration and training.
Trade union communication work has clearly changed with 150 news, articles, and videos posted on many channels far exceeding the city's target.
Care and welfare work continues to be a prominent highlight with the Commune Trade Union connecting many resources to care for union members and workers, focusing on practical groups such as health welfare, support for difficulties, preferential loans, Trade Union Homes, care for children of union members and workers and social security activities.
Regarding health care benefits, the Commune Trade Union has connected medical units to accompany with a total resource of nearly 700 million VND, helping over 1,200 turns/person of union members, workers, fishermen and labor force in the area to access medical examination, consultation, disease screening, and health care services.
The commune trade union also prioritizes expanding the form of health care vouchers to direct labor groups, female laborers, union fishermen and workers in difficult circumstances.
In particular, the column "Doctors accompany union members and workers" is maintained periodically twice a month on the Fanpage of Nam Phuoc Commune Trade Union, selecting content suitable to the specific characteristics of each type of grassroots trade union, helping union members and workers proactively prevent diseases, take care of their own and their families' health.
The Commune Trade Union also coordinated with the City Capital Assistance Fund for workers, civil servants and laborers to disburse 41 preferential loan applications with an amount of 1.23 billion VND, raising the total disbursed capital in 2026 through Nam Phuoc Commune Trade Union to over 2.3 billion VND, supporting union members and workers to solve difficulties, develop family economy, and feel secure in labor and work.
Expanding the "Wings of Dreams" model
On this occasion, Nam Phuoc Commune Trade Union summarized the activities of connecting resources to replicate the model "Wings of Dreams - For the Future of Children of Union Members and Workers" phase 2 in 2026.
In the first phase, the model sponsored 11 students in difficult circumstances with a total resource of 90 million VND. In phase 2 of 2026, the Commune Trade Union continued to connect resources to sponsor 14 children with a total budget of nearly 140 million VND. Accumulated, the model has connected and cared for 25 students in difficult circumstances with a total resource of nearly 230 million VND.
Along with long-term sponsorship, the Commune Trade Union also connects welfare booths for 30 orphans, disadvantaged children, and children with disabilities, including books, school supplies, clothes, shoes, school health care and needs suitable for each child.
The new point of the model is that it does not stop at one-time support, but aims for long-term companionship, with specific addresses, monitoring and continuing to connect more resources suitable to the needs of each child.
Speaking to direct at the conference, Mr. Cao Thanh Hai - City Party Committee Member, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Nam Phuoc Commune People's Committee highly appreciated the results achieved by Nam Phuoc Commune Trade Union in the first 6 months of 2026, especially the spirit of proactiveness and creativity in the context of commune trade unions managing inter-communal areas, diverse types of grassroots trade unions, many tasks and increasingly high care requirements.
Mr. Cao Thanh Hai requested the Commune Trade Union to continue to focus on effectively implementing the assigned tasks, promote union member development, build strong grassroots trade unions, promote the role of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.
